Remote Control: What You’ll Want To Watch The Week of May 24th 2010

The theme of this week’s television offerings is, without a doubt, goodbyes. (Besides a hello to the new season of “The Bachelorette,” which Amelia is liveblogging starting at 9 p.m. EST.) After 20 years, “Law & Order” is dunzo after this week’s episode. And after eight years, the clock has finally ticked down on Jack Bauer and “24.” Not to mention that “American Idol,” “Dancing with the Stars,” “How I Met Your Mother,” and “Tough Love Couples” are all done for the season. Sigh. Previews and more, after the jump. Keep reading »

Remote Control: What You’ll Want To Watch The Week of May 17th 2010

The television giveth and it taketh away. While it’s upfronts week and we’re getting to hear about all the awesome new shows that will be starting in the fall, this week also wraps up the season for many of the shows we already love. This week alone brings the season finale of “House” (will Hugh Laurie stop being a meanie?), “90210″ (who will Liam ask on his boat—Naomi or Annie?), “V” (what will Erica do with her invite to the mothership?), “Grey’s Anatomy” (what ailment will guest star Mandy Moore have?), “Bones” (can we even watch this show knowing that David Boreanaz is a sleaze?), and “30 Rock” (is Matt Damon really the man of Liz Lemon’s dreams?). And, of course, “Lost.” If the trailer for Sunday night’s two-and-a-half-hour season finale (starting at 9 p.m. on ABC) doesn’t give you chills, well, you’re probably not human. After the jump, previews for other shows you will not want to miss this week. Keep reading »

Remote Control: What You’ll Want To Watch The Week Of May 10th 2010

I just realized that it’s been more than two months since I’ve gone to see a movie. Why? Because why pay $10+ to sit in a freezing theater when I can park it on the couch and watch all the amazingness that is my television. This week, like all weeks this month, I am super pumped for the final episodes of “Lost.” But there’s some other great stuff going down, too, like the season finale of “America’s Next Top Model,” fresh episodes of “Friday Night Lights” (finally!), and a “Simpsons”-themed dose of “Top Chef Masters.” After the jump, check out previews. Remote Control: What You’ll Want To Watch The Week of April 19th 2010

It’s really beautiful outside, yet this doesn’t make me want to leave the house to frolic in the sun. I think it’s because I’m depressed and it just seems like nature is laughing at me. Fortunately, my best friend, TV, is here to cheer me up. This week, there are the premieres of “Romantically Challenged” and “Party Down,” the finales of “Damages” and “Project Runway,” a live reunion special for “The Millionaire Matchmaker,” and the Madonna “Glee” episode. Suck it, sun. Keep reading »

Remote Control: What You’ll Want To Watch The Week Of April 12th 2010

Spring has fully sprung but just because it’s nice out doesn’t mean you’ll be able to pry me from my couch. There is way too much going on with my TV friends this week. This week, we have the premiere of “Tough Love Couples” and “Brandy and Ray J: A Family Business.” We have episode two of the great new series “Treme.” We have the series finale of “Ugly Betty.” But perhaps most exciting … the return of “Glee.”  Keep reading »

Remote Control: What You’ll Want To Watch The Week Of March 29th 2010

Spring has sprung (kinda) but just because it’s nice out doesn’t mean you’ll be able to pry me from my couch. There is way too much going on with my real friends … the ones in the TV. This week, we have the season finales of “Kell on Earth” and “Greek,” the season premieres of “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” and “In Plain Sight,” and another good week for my new favorite show, “Modern Family.” Keep reading »

Remote Control: What You’ll Want To Watch The Week Of March 15th 2010

It’s been raining for four days straight here in New York, and I am officially sick of staying in and watching television. And yet, there are so many exciting boob tube happenings this week that I’m looking forward to. From the premiere of Jessica Simpson’s “The Price of Beauty” and “Kirstie Alley’s Big Life” to fresh episodes of “Lost” and “Secret Diary of a Call Girl,” here are the shows to watch this week.
