Did you guys watch the CMA Awards last night? I didn’t get to see the actual show, although according to Katie, I didn’t miss much. But come on, the red carpet fashion is what everyone really cares about, so let’s delve into the sartorial choices of country’s superstars, shall we? Who wins the crown for best color? Whose vintage style is on point? Who is most likely to be mistaken for a Vegas lounge singer? Who seems to be trying really hard to impress your mom? Click through to find out!
Oh lordy, the Emmys were both weird and depressing (so much death!) and a total snooze. But luckily, the fashions on the red carpet were not. Yes, there were a couple handful of looks I didn’t particularly like, but for the most part, I thought the ladies nailed it with their fancy dresses and pretty faces and stuff. Click on for my best dressed…
Last night’s Emmy Awards were weird. Super. Weird. But we’ll get to that in a bit. For the most part, the looks on the red carpet were gorgeous and I could only pick a little over a dozen that I truly, truly, truly did not like — and it hurts my fashion-loving heart that many of them were worn by actresses who typically make my best dressed list. Sigh. Everyone has an off day, I guess.
Now that Amanda Seyfried has made her porn (well, kinda) debut in “Lovelace,” we realize we’ve been neglectful in reviewing this blonde’s most stylin’ moments. And believe us, she has come a looong way from her days of “people just forget about her because she’s such a slut” Karen from “Mean Girls.” Okay, so that probably wasn’t the best analogy. But people, we mean her style. She’s seemed to evolve from the safe girl-next-door to fierce risk taker … and we like it.
Teens! They have choices! They even have awards about their choices! The 2013 Teen Choice Awards were held Sunday night, celebrating the aforementioned adolescent decisions. Miley Cyrus and her hair poof won big, Lea Michele came out and made a heartfelt speech about Cory Monteith, and there were so many teens! Because this show is essentially about children giving awards to other children, I went a little easier on their fashions. I don’t want to be accused of bullying teenagers, after all. Keep clicking for the good, the bad and the most boring fashions alive…
Director Lee Daniels’ new film “The Butler” chronicles the history of the White House through the eyes of an African-American butler named Cecil Gaines, played by Forest Whitaker. A lot of hot dudes, including Liev Shrieber and James Marsden, play the presidents, and Alex Pettyfer, perhaps typecast, plays a terrible sadistic landowner.
I don’t know if this movie is good or bad, but I was basically bawling after watching the trailer, so yeah, it’s that kind of film. Plus! Oprah’s in it! Oprah.
On Monday night, the film premiered in New York, and here’s what everyone wore.
Vanity Fair, that magazine that your parents probably have in their bathroom magazine rack, does a yearly analysis of the best-dressed celebs, socialites and entrepreneurs. Generally, it seems, the only qualification to appear on the list is that you have to be really, ridiculously rich. Of course, nice clothes help. But really, money does not buy you actual style (nor does it buy you class, as LuAnn de Lesseps can attest). With that in mind, we thought we’d take a look at the latest Vanity Fair list. As expected, the list has some celebs on it, but it’s also got a healthy number of models and socialites (including one dude whose “profession” is master of foxhounds) — plus quite a few struggling musicians and C-list actors whose families happen to be incredibly wealthy and well-connected (trust funds, anyone?). Oh, are you possibly vaguely related to the Medici’s or some other powerful Renaissance family? You’re on it.
We put together a short list of some of the dozens of best-dressed picks, analyzing what they wore — plus, we also threw in some of the people we think actually deserve to be on the list. (I mean, how do you leave Diane Kruger and Solange off a best-dressed round up?) Take a look, won’t you?
Just in time for Father’s Day, last night’s TV schedule featured the Miss USA competition and the Daytime Emmys, both bastions of typical dude fascination. Right.
At the Daytime Emmys, “Days of Our Lives” and “The Price is Right” were both big winners, while Ellen DeGeneres took the honor for top daytime talk show. There were tons of soap stars attendance, though too few “Real Housewives” for my taste. I mean, you’re telling me Ramona Singer had something better to do last night. As if!
Anyway, you can check out what everybody wore in the gallery above!
