We first met wee Rachel Bilson when she played Summer on “The O.C.,” the improbably popular show about a California bad boy forced to live with a rich fam in Orange County. These days, she plays Dr. Zoe Hart, a young doctor who moves to a small southern town to take over her father’s medical practice, on the CW show “Hart of Dixie.” (P.S. She also serves as a style advisor and blogger (welcome to the glamorous life, Rach) for Sunglass Hut. As for her own personal style, Rachel says she shies away from “slutty dresses,” and instead invokes a more modest silhouette. Let’s take a look at some of her best looks, shall we? Keep reading »
Brr! It’s cold in here! There must be an incredible Jean Paul Gaultier dress in the atmosphere! Seriously though,
Torrance Shipman Kirsten Dunst looks amazing at the LA premiere of her new movie, “Bachelorette,” wearing a slouchy JPG resort gown that strikes just the right balance of retro and modern. I never thought a double-breasted trench coat-inspired dress with a ruffled collar neckline and pockets would work, but oh man, Kirsten is working it. Also I’m totally going to beg Rachel for a Beauty Cues post about this makeup look. I want to steal Kiki’s dewy complexion and berry lips, like, stat. [Photo: Fame/Flynet]
I’m usually not a big fan of white formal dresses, mostly because they can easily make you look like you missed a turn on the way to your wedding, but I must say Jessica Chastain strikes just the right tone in this beautifully streamlined white gown she wore on the Cannes red carpet. The cut is modern and flattering, the scooped neckline adds sexiness, and I’m obsessed with the pockets. What do you think of this look?
Summer is winding down now, but we’re still loving bright colors. While the color-blocking trend got us to try wearing colors together, we still realize the impact of bold color with neutral cream. Just check out the photo of Molly Sims above. The tailoring of her orange-red blazer says, “I’m not to be messed with,” but the fluttering of her cream mini dress says, “But I can have fun too!” We took inspiration from Molly’s look, but tweaked it a bit, swapping the orange-red blazer for a coral one, and chose round-toe pumps over pointed shoes. See the look and get the details after the jump. Keep reading »
Solange‘s ensemble for the Elle Women in Music concert in Hollywood wasn’t met with the best reception. I’m sure her bralette top has something to do with that. However, the ’70s feel of the high-waist pants, long cardigan, and floppy hat is right in step with the sophisticated bohemian vibe this season. Solange’s look would be completely wearable with a more substantial yet sexy top. See how you can recreate the look after the jump. Keep reading »
