The Cannes Film Festival is where celebs are supposed to bring their A game. Not their A- game, but their A+ game. That’s because they’re not simply on the red carpet at some crappy Hollywood premiere — they’re on the world’s snotty stage! In France! France! And they’re competing against French and Italian starlets in the glamour game, too. As such, these girls have some really intense gown-age in tow — with everything from lacy cut outs, to feathers, to bright colors at their disposal. Brooklyn Decker wore this mismatch of a Giambattista Valli dress with Blue Nile jewels to the California premiere of her new movie, “What To Expect When You’re Expecting.” And while we’d generally be hard-pressed to find anything wrong with gorgeous Brooklyn, it’s undeniable that the top half of this dress does not go with the bottom half. Not only that, it kind of reminds us of the outfits hacky-sack playing girls would wear in college. But is that a problem? For you, it might not be.

L.A.’s Wango Tango fest gathers together pop stars and music fans for a day of music and fun. Justin Bieber was there, which makes sense, but also “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” trainwreck Taylor Armstrong. Does she even know who Justin Bieber is? The Met Ball is, in many ways, bigger and brighter than all of the awards shows combined. While the Academy honors excellence in film, the gala honors glamour in its purest form. Each year there’s a “topic” of celebration — last night extolled the parallels of Miuccia Prada to the late great Elsa Schiaparelli; last year’s subject was the inimitable Lee Alexander McQueen — and each year it’s up to the young and the beautiful to bring it. Good sense and humility takes a night off, and the most illustrious names in both the silver screen and the backstage dust off their boldest, most eye-catching, sometimes straight up cray looks. The Met Ball, held each year at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, is Fashion with a capital F’s version of the Oscars. Okay, so no awards are given out — this year’s gala celebrated “parallels between Miuccia and the late Elsa Schiaparelli” — but the red carpet arrivals put the Academy Awards to shame. This past weekend was the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, and literally, like, anybody who’s ever been on TV was there. I mean, Caroline Manzo from “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” attended. So did Rob Morrow, that guy from “Northern Exposure.” And as you might imagine, there were a zillion famous ladies in dresses, great and small.
