What It Costs To Make Charlize Theron Look Good

Charlize Was A Nerd
The "Young Adult" star and 10 others who were geeks in HS. Read More »

This week’s issue of New York magazine features a fascinating look at the high cost of celebrity culture. One major money area of celebrity life? Awards shows, where celebs swan around in couture gowns, dripping in jewels with perfect hair and makeup. It seems, though, that the more famous a celebrity, the less they actually pay for, as brands and designers clamor to be affiliated with famous faces. Take Charlize Theron’s head-turning look at the 2012 Golden Globes — and who paid for it…

The Screen Actors Guild Awards: The Bad!

It wasn’t all immaculately turned out Tilda Swintons and stunning Zoe Saldanas at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. No, there were some terrible fashions, too. And though some of these actresses may have won big at the SAGs, they definitely disappointed on the style front. Click through to find out who sagged at the SAGs.

Golden Globes Style Inspiration: Dianna Agron’s Red Lace

Dianna Agron’s breathtakingly intricate red lace dress was one of my favorite looks at the Golden Globes. Surprisingly, it was also one of the most wearable trends (as opposed to, say, Angelina Jolie’s skintight white satin gown, which makes me break out in cellulite just thinking about it) to show up on the red carpet last night.

Layer a stretchy red lace top under a blazer. Rock a red lace skirt on a date or pair with a black cardigan for work. Still seem too risque? Try the trend in smaller doses like a cheeky bow-tie necklace or pretty underthings. Check out some awesome (and affordable!) red lace pieces after the jump… Keep reading »

The Good, The Bad & The WTF: The ABC Winter Press Tour

Despite it being freezing balls cold on the East Coast, the West Coast is in a constant state of cold weather denial. Which is why the celebs who turned out to shill for their ABC shows at the winter press tour were dressed in barely-there dresses and skirts. I’m not bitter, really. TV veterans and up-and-comers all gathered in their frocked finery, but only some managed good style ratings.

The Good, The Bad & The WTF At The 2012 Critics’ Choice Awards

It’s no mistake that the Critics’ Choice Awards come the day after the People’s Choice Awards. Celebs who don’t win the popular vote can drown their sorrows in the idea that perhaps, perhaps the critics adore them. But while the People’s Choice was a slightly less formal affair, the Critics, well, the Critics we dress up for. Find out who fared well and who critically missed the mark…

The Totally Awful Looks At The 2012 People’s Choice Awards

When it comes to last night’s People’s Choice Awards, I don’t even know where to begin. I’ll start by saying that I didn’t actually watch them. My standard when it comes to which awards are worth viewing? If Brad and Angelina are there, then I’m all in. While the reigning king and queen didn’t come out last night, just about every bold-faced name in Young Hollywood did. Seriously, there were dresses everywhere. Some were good, some were bad, and some were just abominable. Let’s start there.

The Good, The Bad & The Totally Meh At The “Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close” And “Young Adult” Premieres

Both “Young Adult” and “Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close” held premieres this week, and the stars of both films — Charlize Theron and Sandra Bullock — turned out in support. Were they sartorially splendid or did they fall on their faces? Click through to find out.

The Good, The Bad & The Totally Meh: The Trevor Project Live

This past weekend, celebs came out to support The Trevor Project, a national nonprofit dedicated to helping lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning teens through suicide prevention and crisis counseling. Lady Gaga was honored with a Trevor Hero Award for her efforts to help young people in LGBTQ community, while Amy Poehler and Neil Patrick Harris performed. So there were definitely laughs, but was there good fashion? Click through to find out.

The Good, The Bad & The WTF: Art Basel Miami

Every winter, artistas and galleristas gather down in Miami to celebrate the newest and next in the art world. If you’re at Art Basel Miami art fair, chances are you’re rich or famous, or some combination of both. But having lots of money or celebrity doesn’t always equal sartorial splendor. Click through to see some of the best and worst of Art Basel.

The Good, The Bad & The WTF At The 2011 British Fashion Awards

Last night, the British celebrated their own particular brand of style with the British Fashion Awards, honoring the best in designing and fashion talent from around England. Women swept the awards, winning top honors for best fashion and accessories designers — Victoria Beckham and Charlotte Dellal, respectively — while Alexander McQueen head Sarah Burton took home the award for fashion designer of the year. Alexa Chung was crowned most stylish (what is this, high school?) for the second year in a row, beating out both Kates — Middleton and Moss — and Stella McCartney, Christopher Kane and Kim Jones took home additional awards.

But what you really want to know is: what did they wear? After the jump, some of the best and worst to grace the fashion red carpet.
