Can you say, aca-fuck yes? The Barden Bellas of “Pitch Perfect” are returning to a movie theater near you in 2015. The head of Universal Pictures has confirmed the studio’s plan for “Pitch Perfect 2,” with the original screenwriter Kay Cannon on board. Judging by what the actors have said in past interviews — and Sunday night’s MTV Movie Awards reunion performance — we’re willing to bet that the full cast, or at least the majority of it, will be back for a second round. Two words: Rebel Wilson. (And if you haven’t seen the movie by now… see it. Just do it.) [Slash Film]
It should come as no surprise that for all the obsessing we do about Ryan Gosling, baby pandas, Grumpy Cat, Karl Lagerfeld, Chavril and the endless array of Be My Boyfriend candidates, The Frisky is most inspired by the work of the many rad women we look up to. There are so many pop culture heavyweights and high-powered newsmakers who show us how its done and inspire us with their achievements every day. Naturally, of course, we each have our favorites. With that in mind, each Frisky staff member was tasked with choosing and submitting their favorite rad and inspiring woman — okay, a few of us got to pick two — for nomination, along with a photo of herself and a blurb about why they chose the woman they did.
And now we want you to vote for your favorite of the 10 women we’ve chosen.
The poll will remain open for two weeks — until April 22 — and, at that time, the woman with the most votes will become, effectively, our Rad & Inspiring Woman of the Year.
So what do you say? Will you tell us who you love, too? Vote now! Keep reading »
Fat Amy met Magic Mike and dang it, Channing Tatum looks thrilled. Wouldn’t you be, too, if you were hanging out with Rebel Wilson? [MTV.Tumblr.com]
The Oscars are this Sunday, which means it’s time for snotty people who think they know better — i.e. moi – to complain about who should win but can’t because the Academy was stupid to nominate them. Here are 10 people who were completely screwed out of an Oscar nod this year, which blows because if I had my way, they would all win too. (Yeah, some of them overlap in categories, but in a world where I have a say in such things, there are tons of awards to go around.) Think I missed someone? Share who you wish was nominated in the comments!
“Pitch Perfect” star Rebel Wilson is generally fairly amazing. And her new clothing line, named Fat Mandi after her character on the Australian TV show “The Wedge,” is no exception. So far, it consists of two T-shirts featuring donut and cupcake illustrations on the boob area, priced at just $20 each! But here’s where I’m not stoked — the company’s website has an illustration of a donut with the words “not for skinny bitches” on it. Nevermind that the site also shows regular ass thin models wearing the tees (along with Rebel herself, of course). It seems like an unnecessarily crass and offensive way to market yourself. After all, there’s no way any site would get away with saying “not for fat bitches,” so the opposite should be true, too. [Fat Mandi]
