It’s that time of year again! That is, time for the the human clothing hangers better known as models to strut down the catwalks of Lincoln Center in beautiful, expensive and sometimes absurd designer clothing, for the Fall 2014 runway shows. Each day, we’ll present to you a selection of noteworthy shows so that, even if you can’t ultimately afford what you see (uh, we can’t), you’ll be up to date on the coming trends. Or at least have plenty of outfits, makeup and hair looks to drool over and/or laugh at. After the jump, all the looks from Jason Wu, Zimmerman, Kate Spade, Raoul and more! Keep reading »
There are so many shows, and not enough hours in the day to possibly go to all of them. Good thing, then, that we’ve got your New York Fashion Week coverage down. We’re not even half way through day two, and there’s already been nearly three dozen shows. We’ve whittled it down to a few of our faves from the third and fourth day of shows. I was totally droooooling over Whit’s prints, use of black and white, and the wide range of options, from dresses to wide-leg pants.
After the jump, check out more collections from Zimmermann, Kate Spade, Rebecca Minkoff, Mara Hoffman and Rebecca Taylor… Keep reading »
Time to give credit where credit is due: while the rest of New York City hid indoors during Blizzard Nemo, the fashion industry went forward with Fashion Week as planned. The tents have never seen so many pairs of Sorel boots! Let’s see what designers Christian Siriano, Mara Hoffman, Jason Wu, Jill Stuart, rag & bone, and Rebecca Minkoff sent down the runway for Fall 2013. Keep reading »
Saturday marks the third day of New York Fashion Week — and featured shows from Kate Spade, Rebecca Minkoff, Prabal Gurung and tons of others. While we were less than excited about the offerings at Charlotte Ronson (sort of tepid florals in a muted shades), Cushnie et Ochs collection of white, magenta and blue dresses thrilled. Check them out — several other shows from fashion week’s third day, after the jump! Keep reading »
There’s one thing fashion and gadgets have in common: both can be quite expensive. This holiday season, though, Rebecca Minkoff @ eBay has the perfect gift for the glamorous gadget lover that will not break your bank — an iPhone case. These aren’t your run-of-the-mill iPhone cases. Two feature raised cheetah designs in color combinations of pink and gray, and black and lime green. But the sexiest of all the iPhone cases is the studded one, which features shiny black studs on a black perforated background. This case was made for showing off (just be careful a mugger or fashion hound doesn’t steal it and the phone).
Also in the exclusive tech collection is a to-die-for leather iPad cover that is embellished with gold studs on the outside and lined with a black and blue polka dot fabric. If you have $220 to spend on a gift, I can’t see any iPad user being disappointed with this gift. I can’t say that for the iPhone Carrying Case and Leather Wristlet. Both seem too small to carry much and too large to be inconspicuous. But then again I can’t get down with tiny bags, so there you go. [eBay]
Don’t worry — that’s a makeup artist’s finger, not the model’s! Model’s never pick their own noses in public. [2/11/11, Rebecca Minkoff, NY Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2011] Keep reading »
Meet the newest object of my affection: the Gregger Leather Tote. Gregger (yes we’re on a first name basis already) is part of the Ben Minkoff collection, Rebecca Minkoff’s latest line of men’s bags. This tote has a modern military vibe and a removable laptop sleeve. The rest of the collection include leather messengers, iPad cases, computer bags, and iPad sling bags, which are a sort of murse that hold an iPad. Ben Minkoff is sold at Bloomingdale’s and Ben Minkoff] Keep reading »
The problem with pretty laptop sleeves is that you hardly ever get to see them when they’re stuffed in your purse. (Unless you take to carrying around your laptop as a huge clutch, which doesn’t seem very comfortable, safe, or practical.) Enter Rebecca Minkoff and her wonderful laptop carrier that’s half purse, half case. Both business-y and fashion-y, the alligator-embossed leather holder is accommodating enough to hold all your other necessaries, or is slim enough to complement a second purse.
A BFF necklace is a nice token of affection, but here’s a new way to show your best bud how much she’s really worth: Rebecca Minkoff’s Best Friends Pouches, perfect to use as simple wallets or for storing loose change. The inspiration for these cute leather accessories apparently came from someone who told the designer, “Friendship is like money, easier made than kept.” A sweet sentiment to keep in mind … each time you reach for your credit card.
Handbag designer Rebecca Minkoff has won over shoppers for years now with her popular “morning after” purse, which is pretty much the perfect bag. So when Minkoff recently expanded her empire to include a small collection of clothing, we were naturally excited. Her fall ready-to-wear line has just been posted on Shopbop, and the designs are fairly strong—although, obviously the power piece is that incredible purple pleated blazer (can’t say we’ve seen a lot like it). The rest of the collection includes tops with buttons and zippers that are placed in ways mirroring RM’s handbags, as well as some softer items like a vintage-y polka dot blouse and a floral robe dress.
Only thing is, the collection is expensive. Like, really expensive. Perhaps Minkoff just knows that if her cult clients put down for a bag, they’d be just as pumped for clothes as well. What do you think? [Shopbop.com] Keep reading »
