Guest Star Bonanza: Katy Perry On “HIMYM” And LuAnn De Lesseps On “Law & Order”

It’s a big day for guest star news. First, “How I Met Your Mother” fans have another pop princess to look forward to on the show. Like Britney Spears, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Lopez, Mandy Moore and Nicole Scherzinger before her, Katy Perry will be appearing in an episode of the show, as a rare breed—a woman who actually piques Barney’s interest. Which means, she’s presumably not the titular mother. I’m starting to think I’m waiting for Santa Claus here. [NY Post]

Meanwhile, LuAnn de Lesseps of “The Real Housewives of New York City” has landed a role on “Law & Order: SVU.” Keep reading »

Meet New NYC Housewife Cindy Barshop

It’s become painfully obvious that Bethenny Frankel isn’t returning for the next season of “The Real Housewives of New York City.” Instead, Bravo has replaced her with another brunette, single mother Cindy Barshop. She has one-year-old twin girls named Zoe and Jesse and is also the founder of Completely Bare, a hair removal spa in NYC. [That's where I get my pubes removed! -- Editor] A friend says Cindy is close with Jill Zarin, Bethenny’s former BFF, but we know how quickly Jill will destroy that friendship if Cindy gets more airtime. I cannot wait for the new season to begin! [Hollywood Hiccups] Keep reading »

Bankrupt “Real Housewife” Sonja Morgan Blames It On … John Travolta?

Sonja Morgan of “The Real Housewives of New York City” is joining Teresa Giudice on the “Real Housewives” broke list. Morgan recently filed for bankruptcy, citing that she was more than $19 million in debt. While some may think all the money was carelessly spent on handbags and brunches, Sonja is pointing the finger at John Travolta. Keep reading »

Quotable: Kelly Bensimon Denies Being Crazy (Again), Teaches Daughters Important Lessons

“I’m embarrassed that I allowed myself to feed into [the drama in St. John], but I don’t think I would handle it differently. The ratings were amazing, so no, absolutely not… I don’t have any regrets. I’m glad I went on ‘Housewives’ because the show has made me more known. [...] I’m 42, and I have this new life. Yes, I’m more mass market. And that’s okay. It’s my job….I’ve worked so hard. It wasn’t always lollipops and unicorns. I tell my girls, ‘Your mom gets paid to engage in inappropriate behavior.’ It’s an amazing opportunity for them to see that being mean is not okay. I tell them, ‘If you’re in a situation like this, walk out. Don’t come back with jelly beans.’”

Kelly Bensimon in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar. So, basically she’s teaching her kids that it’s OK to engage in inappropriate behavior as long as you get paid, get fame, and get ratings. Good moral lesson! [via Huffington Post] Keep reading »

“The Real Housewives Of New York City” Reunion: Watch Alex Take On Jill

Alex McCord was by far my favorite NYC housewife this year because she finally stopped holding in her anger and let people know exactly what she thought of them. The main target on the receiving end of Alex’s wrath was a very deserving Jill Zarin. We had a little hint of Alex calling Jill out during the season, but even I could feel Alex’s frustration at Jill’s annoying and defensive arguing. On the reunion tonight at 9 p.m., though, it seems Alex has practiced exactly what she wants to say to the hawker of fabrics and gossip. Check out the video above for a little taste of their word battle and peep Bethenny Frankel reaming Kelly Bensimon after the jump. And is it just me or does it look as if another Kelly personality is about to come out when the clip ends? Keep reading »

Newsflash: Bethenny Frankel Was Married Before

Tonight brings the premiere of Bethenny Frankel‘s new show, “Bethenny Getting Married?” on Bravo. Bethenny has been my favorite of the “Real Housewives of New York City,” in part because I adore her wry sense of humor, but also because I so related to her struggle with dudes during the first two seasons of the show. Bethenny was the kind of girl who wasn’t sure she would find love—heck, the title of her new show has a question mark in it, stressing just how little Bethenny expected marriage for herself. But, interestingly, she revealed this week that when we see her walk down the aisle in the series, it isn’t for the first time. Apparently, Bethenny was married before and just never identified on the show as a divorcee. Keep reading »
