Who’s Better At The Glam Girl Look?

If this isn’t a very Hollywood beauty trend, I don’t know what is! Yesterday, both “Sherlock Holmes”‘ big-screen star Rachel McAdams and January Jones of “Mad Men” TV fame walked the same exact red carpet sporting the same old Hollywood-style glamorous hair and makeup. It’s a look that’s pretty easy to recognize—the perfect crimson lip color, soft curls and sculpted waves, and, of course, precision-applied, black, liquid liner. Basically, just crib your hair and makeup look from any old-school Grace Kelly/Jane Russell/Elizabeth Taylor type. So, now that we’ve established the glam-look parameters, which of these gorge ladies rocked it better? Keep reading »

Rachel McAdams Knows Peachy Makeup Looks Good On Everyone

Here’s a little insider secret: Celeb makeup artists rely heavily on peach makeup tones to make their clients look glowy and fresh on the red carpet. Take Rachel McAdams, who went monochromatic for “The Time Traveler’s Wife” premiere last night with peach blush, browny-coral shadow and an apricot lip color. It’s nice and light, looks good on lots of different skin tones, and is a great alternative to Pepto-Bismol pinks. Wondering what products to pick up? Well, it so happens we have a few peachy faves … Keep reading »

A Musical “Notebook” Is A Bad Idea

Everyone’s favorite sappy chick flick, “The Notebook,” is being turned into a musical. This troubles me. For starters, I am a fan of the movie, not the book by Nicholas Sparks, and am only a fan of the movie because Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams made the characters’ romance so believable (because, duh, they fell in love while making it). If, say, Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves had been playing Allie and Noah, I would have hated it — just like I hated that horrid movie “The Lake House” — because it would have just been another cheeseball romance with two doofuses tonguing each other in the rain. A musical version — without The Gos and McAdams — could be 10 times as bad because how do you choreograph a tap dance routine about Alzheimer’s? However, we know Gosling can sing and McAdams just looks like a gal who’s done some musical theater, so I would be first in line if these two signed up. But my dreams never come true. “Sherlock Holmes” Posters Revealed

Action packed and star studded, even the trailer sells a new concept for an old hero. Guy Ritchie promised a new take on “Sherlock Holmes,” and he delivers by casting Robert Downey Jr. as Holmes, Rachel McAdams as bad girl Irene Adler, and Jude Law as sidekick Watson. Yes, you heard right, Jude Law is playing bumbling sidekick Watson. Wouldn’t he have been a better fit for the brooding and mysterious crime solver? Whatever, he’s definitely still got our attention. “Sherlock Holmes” makeover is revealed in previews that show him in shirtless boxing matches and handcuffed to a bed naked, but the whole cast insists this is deeply rooted in the original description of the character. If this sounds just a little too heavy for you, the good news is that “Borat” and “Bruno”‘s Sasha Baron Cohen is in talks to star in a comedic version of “Sherlock Holmes” alongside Will Ferrell. These two haven’t been paired up since “Talledega Nights,” but we all remember how that turned out! Guess we’ll just have to wait and see which couple is going to make the best crime fighting duo. Trailer, after the jump… [Sherlock Holmes Movie] Keep reading »

Ryan Gosling Responds To Rachel McAdams’ Downgrade With An Upgrade?

According to LaineyGossip.com, Ryan Gosling and Natalie Portman have been hanging out and “flirty texting,” ever since meeting a few weeks ago at Ryan’s regular DJ gig in Los Angeles. If this is true, Gosling has totally scored a post-split point on Rachel McAdams, as Natalie Portman is a much, much better rebound fling than Josh Lucas. I’m still holding out hope for a Ryan and Rachel Reunion (before or after an Amelia and Ryan Quickie), but I have to say, Ryan and Natalie make a lovely bit o’ sense together. She’s intelligent, talented, and not a fame-baller. I am happy to co-sign this pairing, at least temporarily. [Lainey Gossip] Keep reading »
