What to wear to the premiere of the hilarious, female-driven new comedy “The To Do List”? A short party dress, natch. I’m completely obsessed with Rachel Bilson’s blue frock, while Aubrey’s sweetheart neckline dress is adorable too. Done well, ladies. [Photo: INFPhoto.com]
Serious question: is Rachel Bilson still an actress? What does she do nowadays? There are some celebrities who only seem to exist in the context of airports and coming out of coffee shops, and Rachel Bilson is one of them. (“The O.C.,” though. Now that was a great show.) Whatever her reason for being, I sure hope this neck tattoo situation is not for real. I mean, I doubt that it is — Rachel doesn’t strike me as the tacky neck tattoo type — but if it’s a temporary tat, that raises another series of questions entirely, mostly beginning and ending with “why.” [Photo: FameFlynet]
We first met wee Rachel Bilson when she played Summer on “The O.C.,” the improbably popular show about a California bad boy forced to live with a rich fam in Orange County. These days, she plays Dr. Zoe Hart, a young doctor who moves to a small southern town to take over her father’s medical practice, on the CW show “Hart of Dixie.” (P.S. Keep up to date with all of your favorite shows with The CW App … Available free on the Windows Store. Watch Now. Share Now. Get it Now.) And of course, there’s romance and drama. She also serves as a style advisor and blogger (welcome to the glamorous life, Rach) for Sunglass Hut. As for her own personal style, Rachel says she shies away from “slutty dresses,” and instead invokes a more modest silhouette. Let’s take a look at some of her best looks, shall we? Keep reading »
I often wish I had come into the world several decades earlier than my early-nineties debut (hi mom!), but one of the few benefits that make me grateful to have been an adolescent of the aughties is that I was of prime age for the glory days of “The O.C.” I am not being sarcastic; that show was fucking good. As a result of my unyielding affection for that paradigm of zeitgeist-y melodramatic (so melodramatic) teenage television, my love for Rachel Bilson runs deep. She’s just adorable in every way, even without mentioning the obvious fact that she owns one of the most crush-worthy wardrobes this side of Newport Beach. Oh, and Luke Skywalker.
Beyond that, I have never known Rachel to make a sartorial misstep, and this occasion for TCA’s Summer Party is no different. The critics, however, have spoken, and they are not liking the unusual hairstyle she sported on Sunday’s red carpet. It feels to me like an almost-hit: it would have looked really good had she mussed up the tight side to make it look a little prettier and more undone. As it is, I don’t hate the look, but there’s definitely an imbalance to it. Whatever — Rachel Bilson is still fundamentally perfect and I refuse to fault her for this slight blunder … even if said “slight blunder” vaguely channels Donald Trump.
How cute are BFFs Rachel Bilson and Kristen Bell? I friggin’ love that Kristen Bell is wearing jeans that are technically “ankle length,” but since she’s such a micro-mini person, they actually look long on her. We’ve found those cute jeans, along with everything else that Kristen and Rachel are wearing, and you can have it all by clicking after the jump.

“I guess I’m not too crazy about slutty dresses. You try something on, and if you feel like a slut, you probably look like one.”
– “Hart of Dixie” actress Rachel Bilson, prescribing sluttiness on all of us who would wear slutty dresses. Geez, this is why you probably shouldn’t take your style or life cues from celebrities. [Us Weekly]
“I met him [once] and I didn’t know what to expect. He was so funny and goofy. His timing and everything was amazing. I was like, ‘You’re supposed to be my husband!’”
– Rachel Bilson tries to lay claim on my man in the new issue of Nylon. She is so cute and pretty, I feel threatened. [theBERRY]
Luckily, I don’t have to worry about “Parks and Recreation”‘s Aubrey Plaza, who tells Rolling Stone that she didn’t even know who my future baby daddy was when she met him… Keep reading »
Okay, fine, I’ll admit it. I’m a little mad at The CW for canceling “Hellcats,” the show starring Aly Michalka and Ashley Tisdale as competitive college cheerleaders that happened to be loosely based on my book, CHEER!. That said, I’m getting over it because they are bringing two of my favorites—Sarah Michelle Gellar and Rachel Bilson—back to the small screen after years off the air.
After the jump, check out the network’s new offerings that we will absolutely be DVRing. Keep reading »
Stars do commercials all the time. But something makes me just a touch sad when a star whose light bulb has dimmed—that’s the nice way of saying that they haven’t booked a big role in a bit—does a commercial. Case in point, this new Uma Thurman ad for Schweppes. I get that she’s trying to go over-the-top in the overacting department, but something about her performance in this is just creepy and weird. Especially, the way she awkwardly pours the soda into her mouth so as not to mess up her lipstick. I think she and director David LaChapelle can do better.
The Rachel Bilson ad for Magnum ice cream, after the jump, is a little better. Keep reading »
