Taylor Jacobson Defends Herself Against Rachel Zoe’s Accusations

We’ve known for a while that Rachel Zoe’s former protégée, Taylor Jacobson, was leaving “The Rachel Zoe Project.” But until the first episode aired we had no idea why. Was anyone as shocked as I was that Rach and Rodge fired her, implying that Tay-Tay stole from them? Does she have a bad attitude? Sure. Does she seem like a thief? Not really.

Would You Rather: Fire Your Stylist À La Momsen Or Have Rachel Zoe As Your Personal Shopper?

Welcome to Would You Rather, a game in which we concoct hypothetical style dilemmas and ask you to choose which option’s worse.

So, if you haven’t already heard, Miss Taylor Momsen did a very badass rebellious teenager thing this week by firing her personal stylist, which is either a really bratty or bold thing to do. What do you think, if you had the option to have a style guru like Rachel Zoe dress you, would you use her? Which is better—to make your own style or pretend you do by having someone else do it for you? Keep reading »

What’s Taylor Jacobson Up To These Days?

Thanks to previews, we already know that when the new season of “The Rachel Zoe Project” begins, a few details will emerge regarding Taylor Jacobson’s departure from Rachel’s empire. But since leaving Zoe’s clutches, Taylor set up her own company, hired an assistant and interns, got busy, and is building her own brand name. Much like any individual who’s branched out on her own, she’s learning that when starting out, it’s all about long days of hard work, determination, and grunt work. That being said, it seems like Taylor’s doing pretty well for herself. Unsurprisingly, she already has a clientele full of celebrity names including Kate Beckinsale, though she’d rather keep the list hush-hush unlike her former employer. She’s working with the denim brand Kasil, and she’s already been propositioned with the idea of her own spin-off reality show. Don’t hold your breath on her accepting that offer though. Rachel Zoe Meets Rachel Zoe Impersonator, Fights Over Brad

“You’re more faux than the faux fur vest you’re wearing … which, by the way, is gorgeous.” LOL! This PopSugar video of Rachel Zoe meeting a Rachel Zoe impersonator would be funnier without the light saber fight (don’t ask). But you gotta love a celeb who can spoof herself, right? Rachel Zoe Trashing Former Assistant Taylor Jacobson In The Press

How’s this for unprofessional? Stylist-to-the-stars Rachel Zoe is on a roll talking smack about her former assistant, Taylor Jacobson, in the press. Jacobson left Zoe’s business — and the reality TV show, “The Rachel Zoe Project,” which showed how Jacobson was the only one who lifted a finger in that office — last November. Word on the street is that Jacobson was fired over designer clothes that were lost or stolen from the closet — though that seems out-of-character, in my opinion.

We don’t know what really happened, but we do know there was no love lost between them: when asked about Jacobson’s new gig as a consultant for a denim line, Zoe told a reporter for Women’s Wear Daily, “I don’t care what she does. How’s that? How’s that for an answer?” More gossip, after the jump… Keep reading »

Rachel Zoe Is Launching Her Own Brand, Obviously

In an entirely unsurprising move, pint-sized stylist-turned-celebrity Rachel Zoe is launching her own brand, in fall 2011. Creatively titled The Rachel Zoe Collection, the line will include clothes, accessories and undies. Celebrity fashion lines typically make us a bit nervous, but Zoe’s fame did come from being a stylist, so she may escape the clutches of all things boring and derivative. That said, she wears a few too many tent dresses and isn’t typically all that impressive with her personal style. What do you think? Excited or over it? [NBC] Keep reading »

Try This Alternative To Red Lips

Want to break out of the red lip box? So do I. I’m sort of over it (or at least over telling you about it). Today, I’m all about bright orange lips for spring—well, bright orange-with-a-hint-of-red lips, that is. They achieve the same wowsa-look-at-her-lips reaction, which were all over the runways for spring, and now Rachel Zoe is getting in on the action! (Check out Chloe Sevigny, above; she’s a major orange lip fan.) So what orange lipstick/gloss should you pick? Try Make Up For Ever Lip Gloss #2, says Zoe. And for $12, it’s worth the beauty risk!
