Wanna Work For Rachel Zoe?

Rachel Zoe

Well, you’re in luck! But it’s not the opening you think. When Taylor left to go style on her own, many assumed Rachel would hire another style assistant and Brad would be first styling associate. Actually, the opening, according to the listing on Linked In, is for an Advertising Sales and Business Development Executive. According to Zoe, Inc. they’re looking for someone to “evangelize The Zoe Report as being a leader in the fashion publication/ newsletter space.” (Whatever that means.) They also want someone with at least three years experience in ad sales who already lives in L.A. and has an “entrepreneurial attitude—overcome any obstacle, creative, willing to be an evangelist for a new product.” (Again with the evangelist stuff?) For someone with the qualifications, it does sound like a pretty sick job—I’m sure you could work yourself onto an episode or two! [Fashionista]

About Rachel Zoe

Born: September 1, 1971, Yonkers, New York
Best Known As: Celebrity Stylist, Star of “The Rachel Zoe Project”, Being Uber-Skinny

Rachel Zoe emerged onto the Hollywood scene a few years ago when Nicole Richie publicized her new look and new stylist, Rachel Zoe. Although Zoe had a bevy of famous clients before Nicole, their association shot her to uber-stardom.  Now Rachel Zoe has her own reality show on Bravo called “The Rachel Zoe Project,” which has just been picked up for a second season. We at The Frisky have fallen in love with Rachel, her style, and her catchphrases, if not her ever-withering frame.

Love Nest: Get A Look Inside Casa Zoe

Oh, pul-ese, don’t even pretend to play like you don’t care to see inside Rachel Zoe‘s home. The woman can style the hell out of an Oscar look, so you have to assume she’s got a pretty chic house, too. Well, you’d be correct. There’s lots and lots of white, broken up with hits of color courtesy of accessories and racks of clothing. Oh, and loads of Missoni textiles used in pillows and throws. (Insert “I die” here.) Somehow I randomly came across this Welcome Home tour and I could not stop gawking at the interior. Get a closer look after the jump!

Is It Just Us Or Do Olsen Sunglasses Kinda Make Sense?

Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen

Usually, when celebrities come out with a clothing line or fragrance, it’s kind of ridiculous. Does Jennifer Lopez really need all those versions of Glow? But with the news that the Olsen twins are creating a brand-new collection of eyewear for The Row, we’re not exactly shocked. After all, the mini moguls basically wear sunglasses like Rachel Zoe – inside, as major accessories, and the larger the better. This spring, four different styles of sunnies will launch at Barneys New York and Bergdorf Goodman, priced from $325-$390. The twins partnered with Linda Farrow to create the designs: aviator, square frame, round ‘60s-inspired, and brow-line rims. “We tried to find certain pieces that look good on more than one face, to pay close attention to how they fit certain faces and make them wearable at the same time,” said Ashley Olsen.

Don’t worry (as if you are), the twins aren’t stopping their fashion takeover with sunglasses. Apparently, the future may even hold space for footwear and handbags. [WWD]

The Halloween Inspiration Board: Rachel Zoe

The Halloween Inspiration Board: Rachel Zoe

Rachel Zoe‘s large-sunglassed visage has become a ubiquitous image. Her tent dresses are recognizable from yards away. And that mane of wavy blond hair has been copied by Midwesterners and starlets alike. Why not add to all the Zoe worship on Halloween by being her? But you’ve kind of got to take it to the hilt. Here’s how ...

Sneak Peak At Rachel Zoe’s QVC Collection

Rachel Zoe for QVC

Rachel Zoe‘s much-anticipated line for QVC will officially debut during New York Fashion Week, but nitro:licious has a sneak peak. Of the five items we’ve seen so far, three of them are faux fur vests. And, yes, the vests are oh-so-Zoe—we have definitely seen her wearing similar ones—but we won’t be rushing to buy one. Her catchphrases blended into our life seamlessly, but there’s no way this thing is going to fit in with the rest of the stuff in our closet. [nitro:licious]

Rachel Zoe: “Driver, Are We In A Car?”

We love Rachel Zoe with all of our heart, but we can’t deny that she’s a little absurd, especially the way she speaks. Funny or Die takes on our favorite stylist in this video of “Rachel Zoe Outtakes.” If Taylor and Brad ever do start getting along, Rachel’s going to have half as much to talk about. [Funny or Die]

Jessica Stam Works It Out. In Stilettos.

Jessica Stam in V Magazine

We are forever looking for ways to make working out less painfully boring, but we must begrudgingly admit that V magazine and Jessica Stam beat us to the punch with their new workout spread. Somehow, we neglected to realize that evening gowns, stilettos, neon wrist bands and sky high ponytails were the way to jazz up our gym routines. And while one might think that leather leggings wouldn’t allow for all that much breathing, Stam looks perfectly content in the photoshoot, so we’re inclined to believe that Rachel Zoe, the shoot’s stylist, found a solution. Photo of Rachel Zoe's studio

Check out the massive number of shoes Rachel Zoe has in her studio! Apparently, we didn’t even see half of her work-related closet on “The Rachel Zoe Project.” Luckily, The Huffington Post spoke to Rachel and got her to share this photo of the gorgeous view of a land made entirely of pretty heels. Rachel Zoe Is Coping With The Recession By Wearing Clothes More Than Once

Photo of Rachel Zoe

There are a lot of rumors surrounding Rachel Zoe—that she’s forced clients to lose weight, takes horse pills to stay so tiny, and got dropped by some celebs during Oscar season—and in an interview with Women’s Wear Daily, the Zoe addressed these and more. We could just DIE in anticipation of season two of “The Rachel Zoe Project,” premiering on Bravo Aug. 24.

Rachel Zoe DIES for Bob Dylan

Rachel Zoe

You can tell a lot about a person by the kind of music they like. We know Rachel Zoe‘s clothing preferences (expensive vintage dresses, Hermes Birkin bags, face-covering sunglasses) from her reality TV show. We know her current fashion and beauty picks from her newsletter. Now, with the release of her iTunes playlist, we know her taste in music.

While the decades most significantly represented (the ‘60s and ‘70s) make sense given that she loves vintage clothing from those eras, we would have guessed there would have been some less obvious current artists than Madonna and Coldplay. Rachel’s assistant Taylor dresses all rock’n’ roll with tons of black eyeliner and messy hair, so shouldn’t she be cluing Rachel in to some less overplayed tunes? After the jump, Rachel’s commentary on her taste in music.

It’s a big day in Rachel Zoe news. Not only did The Zoe Report debut this morning, but there’s also a preview trailer for season two of “The Rachel Zoe Project,” which airs on Bravo starting Aug. 24. We cannot wait to watch how she deals with the bad press about her underweight look; to see who quits first, Brad or Taylor; and to marvel at the gorgeousness that is Liv Tyler, who says upon arriving at Rachel’s studio, “I need cute outfits!” We do, too, Liv, so can we have your hand-me-downs?

The Rachel Zoe Report

This morning, I awoke to find the first installment of The Zoe Report in my inbox. What a way to start the day! Celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe won us over with her reality show, “The Rachel Zoe Project,” but can another email newsletter succeed? Or will she become another Gwyneth Paltrow and The Zoe Report mere GOOP?  After the jump, we dissect TZR’s inaugural email.

Attention Rachel Zoe: Please Leave These Celebs Alone!

Rachel Zoe and Jessica Alba

No one can accuse Miss Rachel Zoe of lacking style street cred. In fact, she’s responsible for some of the most stunning red carpet looks of the digital era. Still, while all of her fabulous clients, and indeed they are all fabulous, constantly top the charts of the best dressed lists, the look is somewhat generic at this point. Sure, wavy blond hair and loads of accessories piled over a ‘70s maxi-dress looks good on Hollywood starlets, but after we recently spotted Rachel with Jessica Alba, we started thinking about who we’d like her to NOT style. Rachel, we beg you, please leave the following celebs alone. Who we feel particularly protective of, after the jump.

Rachel Zoe Project Season Two

Season two of “The Rachel Zoe Project” premieres Aug. 25 on Bravo, and we’re just dying with anticipation. The Zoe has been tweeting up a storm, teasing us about the upcoming episodes, but she hasn’t been using any of her infamous catchphrases. Maybe she has some new ones up her vintage YSL sleeves? After the jump, our guesses for what Rachel Zoe’s next batch of quotable phrases will be.

Rachel Zoe’s Fashion Newsletter Promises To Be “Bananas”

Rachel Zoe's Fashion Newsletter

How did this skip my radar? Celeb fashion guru and reality TV star, Rachel Zoe, is launching a new project. Mercifully, it’s not one of the usual suspects: a book, a clothing line or an album. Instead, Zoe is debuting a daily newsletter called The Zoe Report. Folks who sign up for it via her website will get daily emails  which provides tidbits on all the fashion and beauty finds the stylist-to-the-stars adores.  Personally, I think it’s a brilliant idea. But I am slightly concerned about the uber-enthusiastic promise to be “bananas.” When was the last time that term was used without irony?

Celebs We’d Be Happy To Hire—As Interns

Celebrity Interns

Yesterday we told you about The Gap’s new intern, Kanye West, who joins a long line of celebrities (temporarily) giving up their high-paying day jobs in order to learn something new from the ground up. All of this got me thinking about which celebs we’d like to have intern at The Frisky and what tasks we would give them. After the jump, some of our writers and editors dish on who they’d like to fetch coffee and, uh, other stuff.

When Chloe Opens A Store, All Of Our Favorite Starlets Show Up In Cute Outfits

Chloe boutique opening in Los Angeles

Last night, fancy fashion brand Chloé debuted its first boutique in LA, and all the stylish starlets flocked to the opening like moths to a flame. Chloë Sevigny was there. After all, she and the label share a name, only they have different accents over them. Other people’s clothes we would like to steal: Leighton Meester, Kate Bosworth, Rachel Zoe, Estelle, and more!

Rachel Zoe Being Filmed For Second Season?
  • TV cameras for Bravo trailed stylist-to-the-starlets Rachel Zoe at Fashion Week.  Does this mean The Rachel Zoe Project is up for a second season? I’d die. D.I.E. DIE. [Fashion Week Daily]
  • Vogue put a woman of color of their cover for the second time this year!  First, Michelle Obama…now Beyonce on the April issue! [Jezebel]
  • Last week, European Union banned animal testing for seven different toxicity tests of cosmetics, including skin and eye irritancy.  It’s also banned the import of chemicals that were tested in this way on animals.  Great news for animal lovers, but it won’t go into effect until March 2013. [Nature.com]
  • Um, ew.  Some poor guy in England got a tattoo as a birthday present from his girlfriend but the tat became infected and he died.  That story right there will be repeated millions of times by mothers the world over, I promise you.  [Telegraph]
