(Another) Quote Of The Day: How Sparrow Got His Name

“It reminded me of the Johnny Cash song ‘A Boy Named Sue.’ My worry raising a son in Hollywood is what will he have to struggle for? I wanted to give him a name that he’s going to have to stand up for. I love it; I think it’s a beautiful name.”

– Joel Madden on why he and Nicole Richie named their son “Sparrow” to People. I have to say, I kind of love this explanation. What do you guys think? [The Hollywood Gossip] Keep reading »

Quote Of The Day: Amy Winehouse’s Dad Gives Her Boob Job A Thumbs-Up

“[Amy is] fantastic, fantastic. Her boobs are great as well. I shouldn’t have said that, should I? She looks absolutely fantastic … I don’t know [how much the surgery cost]. I didn’t have to pay for it—that’s all I know. Whenever I see her, she says, ‘Dad can you give me a couple of hundred.’ But I didn’t have to pay for the boobs.”

(Another) Quote Of The Day: Rich People Don’t Eat

“A lot of women say ‘I should’ve been alive when Ruben was because I’m Rubenesque.’ So times have changed. There are different cultural norms and values and beauty identities, and the fact that thin is in — who cares? It’s why I stopped eating. I think food is for fat people and poor people. Rich people don’t eat. They get dressed up and go shopping.”

Quote Of The Day: Bobby Brown Spills The (Lez)Beans About Whitney

In his new memoir, Bobby Brown: The Truth, the Whole Truth and Nothing But…, Bobby Brown dishes dirt on his ex-wife Whitney Houston, fueling the rumors that she may have played for the other team. He writes:

“[Our marriage] was doomed from the very beginning… I think we got married for all the wrong reasons. Now, I realize Whitney had a different agenda than I did when we got married . . . I believe her agenda was to clean up her image, while mine was to be loved and have children. The media was accusing her of having a bisexual relationship with her assistant, Robin Crawford. Since she was the American Sweetheart and all, that didn’t go too well with her image . . . In Whitney’s situation, the only solution was to get married and have kids. That would kill all speculation, whether it was true or not.”

Hmm … his agenda was to be loved and get married, huh? Likely story! [OMG Blog] Keep reading »

Quote Of The Day: Kate Gosselin Wonders Why Her Kids Are Acting Out

“I’m trying to give them the grace to see, if they’re acting out of line, I’m trying to look deeper into why that is. Why the kids are acting out. Cause it’s all inter-related. I mean, they don’t see it, but it’s all interconnected.”

Kate Gosselin talks to Vanity Fair about the interconnectedness of, you know, fame-hungry parents who bad-mouth each other to the media every chance they get and their kids having issues. Keep reading »

(Another) Quote Of The Day: Natalie Portman Cut Herself

“Just as what you are feeling in your life affects your acting, what you act in definitely affects what you are feeling in your life. I made ‘Heat’ when I was 14 and played a girl who died. A year later, I got into a fight with my mother and cut myself. I had never done it before and I never did it after that, but I think having my wrists bloody in a movie definitely affected my psyche.” [Hollywood News]

Natalie Portman, on cutting herself when she was a teen. Seems like a high percentage of Hollywood starlets have done this. Keep reading »

Quote Of The Day: Bethenny Frankel Has Found Mr. Right

“[Being engaged] feels great, because I’m with the right person. He may be regretting it because it’s been beyond a week and he’s in panic mode – [but] no, we’re enjoying it.”

— “Real Housewife,” Bethenny Frankel, confirms her recent engagement to boyfriend of 11 months, Jason Hoppy, who filled Frankel’s Upper East Side apartment with hundreds of votive candles and rose petals strewn across the hallway before proposing on bended knee and presenting her with a 6.5 carat diamond ring. Frankel accepted Hoppy’s proposal, but before the two could celebrate with a seven-course meal at some fancy-shmancy restaurant, she made him clean up rose petals from her camel-colored rug. Everyone now: awwwwww. [via People] Keep reading »

Quote Of The Day: Manolo Blahnik Hates Celebrities

“I hate celebrities. All those pointless girls — I won’t name names, but you know who I mean. They are ‘famous.’ Ridiculous. I like women with style: actresses like Uma Thurman, icons like Audrey Hepburn. I like women with style to wear my shoes.”

Quote Of The Day: David Duchovny Talks About His Sex Addiction

“There is never a personal-life connection between my characters and myself. I’m a professional and I can access what I need to access, so there’s no bleed-over. I didn’t need to believe in aliens to play Mulder. As for my personal life, everything is fantastic right now.”
