It just so happens that two of my all-time favorite movies are both celebrating their 20th Anniversary today. “The Shawshank Redemption” made me laugh, cry, and truly appreciate the legendary acting of one Mr. Morgan Freeman. On the other hand, “Pulp Fiction” opened my eyes to the genius behind Quentin Tarantino’s directing and taught me about the versatility of the f-word. What could be more iconic than Uma Thurman’s turn as Mia Wallace in Quentin Tarantino’s “Pulp Fiction”? The wife of mob kingpin Marsellus Wallace is instantly recognizable in the film’s famous promotional image which shows her laying lackadaisical on a bed, cigarette in one hand and pistol in the other. Beyond that, she plays a pivotal part in the film, and since its release there’s been mass imitation of the character’s darkly simple style.
