Seth Rogen Proposed While His Girlfriend Was Almost Naked

“She was in our closet, changing, and she was literally only in her underpants. I’d already kind of started, and I was like ‘Oh man, her boobs are out! That’s not part of the plan!’ I didn’t picture it like this, and I know she didn’t picture it like this. No little girl is like ‘It’ll happen in a closet with my tits out.’ … I figured the only appropriate thing was to place the ring on her nipple.”

Seth Rogen tells Conan O’Brien all about proposing to Lauren Miller. He also let it slip that he has strong opinions about what their wedding centerpieces should look like. [People] Keep reading »

5 Celebrity “Just Kidding” Marriage Fake-Outs

Over the weekend, Eddie Cibrian tweeted a very confusing photo. It showed him, on bended knee, holding LeAnn Rimes‘ hand, as she used her free hand to cover her mouth in excitement. The whole tableau took place before a buggy labeled “White Chapel Asylum,” and the words, “I couldn’t resist,” accompanied the image. The photo got tongues wagging about whether these two were actually tying the knot. It would have been perfect timing, as Shape magazine’s editor-in-chief had just called LeAnn a “husband stealer.” But alas, the photo was a fake. A source says that the offer wasn’t for real and was just a little “Halloween fun.” [The Huffington Post]

Here’s One Really, Really Geeky Way To Propose

Here’s another to add to the growing list of insanely cute marriage proposal videos. (Keep up the good work, guys!) In this clip, a group of nerds somehow arrange some 100 cell phones so that they play wedding music and put on a sweet light show for one dude’s girlfriend. Trust us, it’ll make you smile. Possibly The Most Elaborate Proposal Ever

On the one hand, this proposal video from a guy who calls himself “MysteryGuitarMan” is super cute, “aw”-inducing and completely next level. A fake movie trailer? Starring UFC champ Chuck Lidell? That’s pretty impressive! On the other hand, this guy proposed to his girlfriend WITH SUNGLASSES ON. What? No! If you’re going to be doing some proposing, you owe it to your lady to at least look her in the eye. Either way, this video is definitely worth watching. Keep reading »

Please, Jessica Simpson, Don’t Propose!

Jessica Simpson may be not-so-subtly nudging her new dude, Eric Johnson, to the altar. In addition to taking him on lavish trips and letting him crash at her place, she allegedly just purchased a $50,000 three carat emerald cut ring just so he would know that she doesn’t care that he’s too broke to get married. Easy there, Jess. Even if you end up buying the ring and being the breadwinner in the relationship, we really hope that you’ll at least wait until the poor dude is totally on board before you propose to him. Frisky Rant: Proposing On Twitter Is Lame

This week, I tweeted about how I wished I was at Comic-Con, what was going on with my Frisky posts, and how awesome “True Blood” is, especially crazy-pants Franklin. This is the kind of light fare most people post on Twitter, because the site is a place to put links to amusing cat videos or comment about how much you love flossing. Basically, a home for the somewhat interesting things you don’t mind sharing with a group of semi-strangers. That is why I was pretty bewildered and slightly appalled when I found out people have started proposing on Twitter. Keep reading »

“Put A Ring On It” Kind Of Gives Me The Sads

A reader sent me a link to the pilot episode for a new web series on weTV.com called “Put A Ring On It,” a show that covers real-life, over-the-top marriage proposals. “I think you will really like this one,” she wrote, “a guy calls a team of proposal experts to help him freeze time for his proposal.” Intrigued, I watched the clip, but I can’t say I share the same enthusiasm as the reader who sent it to me. Sure, I love a good proposal story as much as the next person, but there’s something a bit icky and disingenuous about turning what should be an intimate moment into entertainment for other people (says the girl who’s watched every season of “The Bachelor/ette”). We aren’t talking about a proposal that happens to be videotaped and slapped on YouTube; this is a real production with a team of “experts,” including a stylist, a techie and a relationship guru, as well as producers, and multiple cameras. And while there’s certainly nothing wrong with a big production, in this case the sentiment seems to get lost. Maybe the guy was just nervous — he’s not only proposing, after all, he’s performing a role … for a show — but where’s his excitement? Where’s the love? I guess I’m just not feeling it for “Put A Ring On It.” Are you? Keep reading »

Dear Wendy: “I’m Dying For My Boyfriend To Propose”

I’ve been dating my boyfriend for almost seven years. We’ve talked about getting married and having kids constantly, but nothing’s come out of it. We’ve even set a tentative date and picked colors. We’ve picked colors!!! But he still hasn’t proposed. I’m getting really frustrated and wondering if all the talk is just that: talk. Things are really great with us, but I’m losing patience and losing my mind. What should I do? — Not-so-patiently waiting

Guy Talk: How To Propose Like A Champ

Men fear commitment the way that dogs fear vacuum cleaners. And actually, men kind of fear vacuum cleaners, too. But marriage is a scary prospect for any person, and guys tend to ridicule friends who take the plunge and decide to propose. Yeah, it’s completely juvenile and undeniably silly. Guys try not to show their emotions, and since marriage is associated with one of the strongest emotions around, some guys associate all aspects of marriage — particularly proposals — with a sort of loss of dignity. It’s even worse if a guy proposes and his girlfriend says no. That’s a lot of egg to wipe off of your face. After the jump are a few ways that guys can propose and come off like a hero … no matter what his girl says. Keep reading »

Flash Mob Helps Create Most Unforgettable Marriage Proposal

Regardless what your feelings are on the whole “flash mob” debate (did you know there was a debate? Yep, some people love them and some people think they’re stupid and cheesy ad annoying), this is by far one of the more interesting, if not creative, ways we’ve heard of someone proposing. A guy hired a flash mob of 100 dancers to help him create an unforgettable proposal in New York’s Washington Square Park. Thankfully, his girlfriend said “yes.” Wouldn’t it have been embarrassing if she’d said “no”? Watch how jazz-handy it gets around the 3-minute mark! [via Buzzfeed] Keep reading »
