A study published this month in Medical Hypotheses suggests that blood levels of the hormone prolactin, which stimulates milk production and fatherly love, rise during sex, especially when there’s an orgasm. In several species, increased levels of prolactin have been linked to weight gain, so if things have been going well in the bedroom lately, it’s quite alright if you’ve been on a couple pounds.
