If you’re a lover of lady mags like we are, then you’ve probably noticed advertisements for Balenciaga Paris in almost every April issue. It’s kind of difficult to get the full effect with those paper fragrance testers so I got my hands on an actual bottle of this new scent. My first thought after the first spritz was: “old money.” Keep reading »
I normally stick to simple hoops or tiny stud earrings, so it’s a little odd that I’m so drawn to this elaborate snake earring. I just can’t help loving how it winds around, going through a regular hole and wrapping itself up the ear. What would you pair with it in your other ear? Or would you buy two and wear both at once? The Body Shop has long backed good causes — remember last year’s safe sex lip balm? — and this month the company launched a new campaign in an effort to raise awareness about the sex trafficking of children and young people. Through its LemonAid effort, The Body Shop will donate $15,000 to organizations working to stop sex trafficking, and we can’t think of a better cause.
The LemonAid campaign coincides with the debut of The Body Shop’s new Sweet Lemon line. Made with lemon seed oil from fruit handpicked on the Italian Riviera (how glamorous!), these bath and body products should keep you and your skin refreshed with lots of anti-oxidants, vitamin C, and a fresh citrus scent.
WIN THIS! We’re giving away a set of Sweet Lemon products from The Body Shop, but you have to work if you want it. In the comments, tell us your best tip for waking up in the morning by 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, April 1. We’ll pick our favorite response and announce the winner on Friday, April 2. You must live in the U.S. or Canada to win. Good luck!
UPDATE: The winner is bexbales for this comment:
I keep two spoons in the freezer. While I am waiting for my coffee to brew in the morning I press the cold spoons to my eyes. Literally no matter how sleep deprived I am, the cool sensation wakes me right up and any trace of puffiness or dark circles disappears. I always end up looking fully energized!

What if every time you stepped on the scale, it called you “Hot,” “Lovely,” or “Ravishing,” rather than any number that’s not your “goal weight”? This “Yay! Scale” made by VoluptuArt pays with compliments rather than pounds, but some think that a scale without numbers just “encourages unhealthy eating habits.” Whatever, I am just bugged out by the hideousness of that pink shag. Bring back the era of Art Deco with these silver earrings, which are simple yet structured to fit in with this winter’s trend of bold shoulders and exaggerations. Since the design matches the late ’20s and ’30s, fabricate a story about the history of the earrings through the generations of your family. There’s a conversation starter. It’s terribly difficult to go without internet access — we go through withdrawal when we can’t get online — but who wants to lug around a laptop everywhere they go? We’ve become reliant on smartphones, but you can only do so much with a tiny screen and an even tinier keyboard. The viliv S7 Premium powered by Intel solves all these issues. This little computer weighs less than 2 pounds, has great battery life, and is able to access the internet the same way a laptop would. Your productivity and communication will be unstoppable, but, let’s be honest, it’s also fantastic for watching movies or entertaining your friends with the latest viral videos. [$579, Dynamism]
WIN THIS! We’re giving away one Intel viliv S7 Premium, but you have to work if you want it. Share the worst thing you’ve discovered about through online stalking before a date — and whether you went on the date after finding out that info — in the comments by 3:39 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 12. We’ll pick our favorite response and announce the winner. You must live in the U.S. or Canada to win. Good luck!
UPDATE! The winner of the Viliv S7 Premium Mobile Tablet is Fizzy for this comment:
“I went on a date with someone I met, yes, on The Frisky. (And no, it wasn’t CheeeeEEEEse, and to be fair to the man in question I’m not going to reveal his identity.) Before going on the date I knew everything about his dating and sex habits from what his kinks were to his opinions on stereotypical male behavior. One might think this would be beneficial. But in fact it was strange in a really predictable sense, and when I realized things weren’t exactly working out it didn’t make sense to me because everything he’d said in comments suggested otherwise. Needless to say I ended up not commenting for sometime and changing my identity.
Frisky ladies, I would avoid dating the gentlemen of this website for those reasons, as attractive as some of them are!”
Thanks for all your online stalking cautionary tales. Keep reading »
