Product Review: Manduka High Performance Yoga Mat

Manduka

I’m no yoga pro, but I do the best I can, ya’ know? Since I started practicing, I’ve been using a variety of yoga mats. You know, the usual kind, that generic, foamy, I-don’t-know-what-the-brand-is type. But I’m super-tall, and I kept practically falling off my mat every time I did downward dog. I needed a better mat.

Product Review: The Sqweel Gets The Job Done, Loudly

Sqweel Product Review

Ask and ye shall receive! A few weeks ago, I posted about the Sqweel, a 10-tongued sex toy that promised to blow my mother-effing mind, and wished that someone would get it for me for Christmas. A few days later, one arrived at my desk. The timing was perfect, as this weekend was rainy and cold in New York, so indoor activities were already on the menu. Did the Sqweel live up to my expectations? Find out, after the jump.

Beauty Test Drive: Swim Cap By Philip Kingsley

swim cap hair product

If you have sensitive or colored hair, you know that pools are your nemesis, making discoloration and brittle ends inevitable. This may no longer be the case thanks to hair genius Philip Kingsley’s Swim Cap, $33, a deep conditioner that actually waterproofs your strands. The idea is you apply the cream under your swimming cap pre-dip, and your hair absorbs the protective formula first and guards against the harsh effects of chlorine. It’s also a good option for beach-goers looking for protection against sun, wind, and salt water. As a regular swimmer, I’ve found that the product hasn’t tampered at all with my blond hue, and even leaves my hair softer and shinier after I rinse and blow-dry it. I’d recommend Swim Cap for non-swimmers as well looking for a good weekly hair conditioning treatment.

Product Review: Maybelline Great Lash Big Mascara

Maybelline

Besides the fact that Amelia and I have used Maybelline Great Lash mascara since, like, childbirth, I’ve gotta add that after almost a decade spent chatting up makeup artists and various beauty experts, it’s hands (lashes?) down the preferred mascara of runway shows, photo shoots, red carpets and regular old everyday folks like you and me. So when we heard about a new version of ye olde standby called Maybelline Great Lash Big, we got nervous. Will we love it as much as the old version? What if it’s not as good? What if it’s—gulp—even better? In order to get a variety of opinions (some more objective than others), we not only tested Big in-house but we also sent it out to readers. Whether or not you should buy this mascara (spoiler alert: Yeah, it’s awesome!), and five different mini-reviews after the jump!
