Let’s talk about your taste in pornography. Is it highbrow enough? Pinkies up, chaps!
Philosopher and How Proust Can Change Your Life author Alain de Botton is deeply concerned about this issue. So he plans to take one for the team and meet with “leaders in porn and the arts,” according to the UK’s Telegraph newspaper, “to bring about a better kind of pornography.”
I didn’t realize there could be better and worse pornography, so long as it’s all legal, consensual and no one is wearing frosted lipstick. But the esteemed philosopher disagrees. Keep reading »
The economy. Education. The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. These are just a few of the many important issues facing American people today. And the one GOP wannabe presidential candidate Rick Santorum has zeroed in his focus on?

Sometimes Lindsay Lohan is just awful. But sometimes, I really do feel bad for her. Today is one of those days, because a porn star named Alex Torres bragged on a radio show Friday that he slept with LiLo while her father Michael Lohan slept upstairs. The actor who goes by the screen named “Voodoo” — and is apparently the same Alex Torres who was canned for filming a sex tape while skydiving — even hinted that Lindsay paid him for the rendezvous. Lindsay’s rep brushed off the gossip, huffing, “I don’t feel the need to respond to claims made by a porn star.” Considering Lindsay posed for Playboy, perhaps they should not be throwing stones. “There’s this experience I have repeatedly which is so symbolic. I work for this big company, Vivid Entertainment, and you walk in the second floor, the editing suite, and there are anywhere between five and eight men, sitting in front of computer screens, watching naked women have sex. I am the only woman in the room, and I am the only woman with clothes on. And that sort of says it all, right? I’m interrupting this hetero-normative male-dominated space. All of a sudden I show up, and all the women they’ve been interacting with for the past eight hours have been naked and moaning and I am not doing either of those things! So I feel like it’s symbolic of the industry, because, in fact, I am a total minority as a woman, and even more so as an out queer woman and as an out feminist. Ultimately, the people who are in my bubble, my production crew, the performers that I work with, everyone at Vivid, is 100 percent awesome; they really support my work, they believe in it, they get it, if they don’t get it, they trust me enough to go do what I want to do.”
— Feminist pornographer Tristan Taormino (also the author of The Ultimate Guide To Anal Sex For Women, amongst other books!) on what it’s like to be a woman who makes pornography in a male-dominated industry. Vivid Entertainment is the same company that offered big bucks to royal embarrassments Pippa and James Middleton and the woman with two vaginas — so it may not the classiest company out there, but at least they’re evolved enough to have hired a sex-positive feminist with a decent idea what other people —women, who’ve have thunk? — want from their porn. Anytime you start getting embarrassed by America’s gator hunters and four-year-old GoGo Juice guzzlers, it can be helpful to see what the folks are up to in southern Italy. Italy is, of course, the country until recently run by prostitute-hiring Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, a television magnate who was loved/reviled for appointing showgirls to political positions. So it should surprise no one that two pole-dancing porn stars are facing off in a mayoral race in Taranto, Italy, a town located on the heel of Italy’s “boot.”
Let’s take a closer look at Amandha Fox and Luana Borgia … no, not that kind of look. Keep reading »
Even if you’re not a overbearing girlfriend or wife, you need to watch this demo video for the web site FindHisPorn.com. Set to dramatic music, the automated hard drive scanner reveals a number of porn websites before zooming in on the midget sex website your husband has supposedly been wacking off to. Me thinks if you can’t ask your boyfriend what type of porn he watches, you’ve come across your first red-flag long before MidgetSex.com has fully loaded! This type of snooping suggests there’s more issues on your part than anything (say, X-rated midgets) you’ll discover about his sexual tastes. But maybe I’m wrong: can anyone think of an instance when FindYourPorn.com would be ethical? [BuzzFeed] Keep reading »
There seems to be an influx in creepy football coaches, or at least in the public stepping forward to report them: An assistant coach at Staples High School in Westport, Connecticut is in trubs for allegedly providing freshman players with his personal username and password for a membership-only porn site. A student reported the incident to faculty members after he overheard the coach relaying the porno password to team members. The coach has since been suspended from his position and barred from any contact with team members or students. Helping young teen boys look at porn certainly does not compare in any way, shape or form to the sexual abuse that occurred at Penn State. But, still, a fully-grown male providing porn to 14-year-old boys is kinda gross, right? I mean, he knows these kids know how to use Google. [Deadspin]
