AIDS activists have filed a workplace safety complaint against Hustler honcho Larry Flynt over the amount of condom-less sex in all of his skin flicks. On Thursday, activists descended upon Los Angeles’ Division of Occupational Safety and Health office with 100 DVDs to show that only one scene in one porno showed a performer using a condom. Blame (or thank, depending on how you feel about the genre), the success of Hollywood mega hits like “Avatar” and “Alice In Wonderland” for what some predict will take porn to the next level, literally. French director Tom Sridix has been working on the release (ha) of the full-length, 3-D, dirty film “Shortcuts 3-D” for over a year, but wanted to wait until James Cameron caused the current mania in order to fully capitalize on the moment. I’m 26 and my boyfriend is 29, and we recently moved in together after dating for about two years. Things are going great except for one thing: my boyfriend watches a lot of porn … at least, it seems like a lot to me. Before we lived together, I knew he looked at porn periodically, but since we moved in together I’m realizing that it’s more frequently than I thought — like, three or four times a week. Lately, he wants to incorporate it as part of our foreplay, watching together before we have sex and then trying out some of the stuff they do in the videos. I’m fine with some if it, but not some of it. I’m worried that since my boyfriend watches so much porn, he’s going to lose interest in me. I guess I’m wondering why, if he loves me and is satisfied with our sex life (like I am), he feels the need to watch so much porn, and does he truly expect me to do all those things he see the porn stars do?
The moment that my boyfriend got up to use the restroom, my friend Liz* turned to me and said gravely and in hushed tones, “All right, I need to make this quick before he gets back from the bathroom.”
Surprised, I replied, “OK???” She sounded like she’d been desperately holding something in all evening, just waiting for us to be alone.
“I just need to tell somebody this. I found out this week that Jay*” — her fiancé whom she has been with for 10 years — “has been masturbating to porn when I’m not around. Like, instead of having sex with me.”
I breathed a sigh of relief. I thought Liz was going to say she found out Jay was cheating. He was only looking at porn, though! Thank God!

In “How Not to Make Love Like a Porn Star,” Salon’s Mary Elizabeth Williams sort of suggests that watching too much porn makes you bad in bed. Supposedly, the increasingly widespread availability of adult movies has turned men into a squad of jack-hammering hump machines: “porn has changed men too — what we expect of them, what they demand of themselves.” According to Williams, the modern man has learned from porn that sex is a performance, one featuring freaky sex tricks and little emotional connection. Of course, men are not alone in this indictment. Williams suggests today’s women are behaving like wannabe porn starlets in the sack, too. We’re all porn stars now! Thankfully, Williams is here to remind: “Life’s not like the movies.” Really? Gee, thanks! Perhaps North Dakota woman Nicole Altendorf was trying to supplement the sex education unit at the local elementary school when she broadcast a porno out the window of her home for all the kiddies to see. As you can imagine, parents, teachers and authorities were less than orgasmic about Nicole’s feature presentation. When the police arrived at her sex den this past Friday, 37-year-old Nicole allegedly bit, spit and kicked an officer in his junk to avoid arrest. Nice judgment, Nicole! But wait! As surprising as it may be, there was also drug paraphernalia found at her house.
