Girl Talk: My Bikini Waxer Suggested I Get Liposuction

I am a hairy person. Think of the hairiest person you know, then think hairier. Think “Harry and the Hendersons” hairy. Anytime I am within a tongue depressor’s distance of an aesthetician, they find something new to wax. (This is how I learned the hard way that upper-lip waxing is not something you should agree to do lightly.) I’m super laid-back in the vanity department, so I am pretty used to waxers offering — nay, begging — to rip hot wax off my eyebrows, my upper lip, my arms, my legs and my lady parts. What I am not used to, however, is the suggestion that I fly to Colombia to get liposuction. Keep reading »

“Bridalplasty” Brides Plan Weddings And Compete For Plastic Surgery Prizes

E! has tapped into women’s two most important goals in life — looking pretty and getting hitched — for a new reality show called “Bridalplasty.” Wedding planning and plastic surgery, what more could a gal want? Brides will make a “wish list” of plastic surgery procedures they desire before the most important day of their lives. The winner of a wedding-themed challenge, like writing vows or planning a honeymoon, gets to choose one procedure from her wish list as her prize with the results revealed at the beginning of the next show. The lucky grooms of these well-balanced ladies will not see the results until they lift the veil at the altar right before they exchange “I dos!” Because, really, if a man is going to latch onto the ol’ ball-and-chain for life, at least it should be pert, unwrinkled, and incapable of displaying emotion? Amirite? Keep reading »

Woman With World’s Largest Breasts Finally Has Her Circus Boobs Removed

Earlier this summer, the world met Sheyla Hershey of Houston, Texas, who possesses the world’s biggest breasts. Sheyla’s knockers measure in at 38KKK, courtesy of some sketchy-sounding surgery that took place in Brazil because plastic surgery laws there are looser. Alas, Sheyla learned the hard way that carrying around a gallon of silicone in your ta- tas is dangerous when they developed a staph infection. Keep reading »

Quotable: Jane Fonda Fesses Up To Plastic Surgery

“I recently had plastic surgery. It was a hard decision to make, and I decided if I’m going to do it, I’m going to tell the truth. I’m writing a book about aging, so I can’t write that book and not say I’ve had plastic surgery. And you know, I just decided it was for me — I don’t want to have bags under my eyes that make me look tired, and so forth and so on.”

Jane Fonda, 72, to “Entertainment Tonight.” Not you too, Jane! At least she is being honest, though. [Us Weekly] Keep reading »

Quotable: Heidi Montag’s Worst Nightmare

“I had a nightmare that I slept without my nose tape on thank God it wasn’t true!”

Heidi Montag shares the uber-disturbing dream she had last night. Heidi, this does seem like an appropriate thing to thank God for. I mean, we wouldn’t your nose to “fall off like Michael Jackson’s,” as you once delicately put it. [Huffington Post] Keep reading »

Politician Raffles Off A Boob Job To Raise Campaign Cash

In America, the politicians act like big boobs. But in Venezuala, one politician is raffling them off. Gustavo Rojas is running as an alternate on the country’s General Assembly and is raffling off free breast implants at $6 a ticket to fundraise for his campaign. Rojas admitted his method of fundraising is unusual, but claimed it’s no different than raffling off a TV set. Hmm. The word I’d use would be “opportunistic”: According to the country’s Plastic Surgery Society, 30,000 people got breast implants in 2006. We’ll have to wait until the election at the end of September to find out if auctioning off a new pair of breasts is a bankable campaign strategy. [AP] Keep reading »
