Here’s a GIF of the actress trying on Google Glass, but more importantly, we get to see her new haircut — which I suspected could be a wig from someone’s Kate Gosselin Halloween costume — from all angles. It looks better than I previously thought, if still a bit reverse-mullet-y. This concludes my Jennifer Lawrence Cut Her Hair Update.
I would like the record to show that I was way ahead of the pixie cut trend (ahem), and if I wasn’t a year and a half into growing my cut out, I’d so chop it all off again. The latest pixie cut ambassador? Model and “The Face” judge Coco Rocha, who’s apparently cut it all off in the name of an Allure magazine photo shoot. She looks cute! Also, her husband James made the first (unkindest) snip… [Oh So Coco]

“I have to for roles. But if I had it my way, I would have just kept it short forever. Of course, men like long hair. There’s no two ways about it. The majority of the boys around me were like, ‘Why did you do that? That’s such an error.’ And I was like, ‘Well, honestly, I don’t really care what you think!’ I’ve never felt so confident as I did with short hair—I felt really good in my own skin.”
– Emma Watson, who stars in the film version of the young adult novel “The Perks Of Being A Wallflower,” talks with Glamour about getting her infamous pixie cut last year. God, dudes are so weird about hair length, aren’t they? See a few more photos from the shoot above and at the link! [Glamour]
This weekend, I received a single-sentence introductory message from a guy on OKCupid. “Have you ever considered cutting your hair short?” he asked, not signing his name or telling me anything about himself or really anything else that made me inclined to respond. Is he negging me? I thought. Is he saying I look bad with longer hair? I was being paranoid, of course, but the truth is, going super short terrifies me because I’m afraid I would look, well, terrible.
Then I came home and saw this photo of Anne Hathaway, who just chopped off all her hair, like, super short, for her role is “Les Miserables,” in which she plays a struggling factory worker who is forced into prostitution and winds up selling her hair to make ends meet. (She also is supposedly on a horrific-sounding 500-calorie-per-day diet, in order to lose 15 lbs. for the role.) First of all, I totally commend Anne Hathaway for her dedication to her craft. But doesn’t she look so … uncomfortable in this photo? Like she’s not happy with her new look. Dammit, Anne — I’m pretending Anne is reading this — you look awesome! You have balls I don’t have! Wear that super short pixie cut with pride! And if you need inspiration, may I direct you to the long list of gorgeous and talented actresses who have also gone super-short in the last few years? Keep clicking to see these fab ladies who’ve lopped off their locks — and then hold your head high!

Emma Watson is showing off her new pixie cut in the December issue of Marie Claire. And some are already calling her the “New Twiggy,” while Joan Rivers said she looked like a lesbian (whatever that means) on E!’s “Fashion Police” this weekend. I really like the mature yet fun cut. What do you think? And check out another photo from Emma’s spread after the jump. Keep reading »
