Well, well, well! If it isn’t Pink (P!nk? I refuse), looking decidedly unlike her usual self with a new set of hair extensions on one side and a buzz cut on the other. A celeb sporting a new weave is rarely newsworthy (they just seem to, like, accumulate more hair every day), but this may very well be the first time we’ve seen Pink without her trademark shorn ‘do. I think she looks great — and, strangely enough, a lot like Busy Philipps-gone-bad. [Photo: Fame/Flynet]
“I’m a reformed slut. [Using the word] is my very unsophisticated way of taking the power back. I’ve always had an issue with, ‘OK, we’ve both decided to do this. Why am I a slut and you’re the player? You didn’t get anything from me that I didn’t get from you.’”
– Pink tells Glamour magazine why she proudly refers to herself as a slut (well, currently in the 7th year of her relationship with Cary Hart, she now calls herself a “reformed slut”). She goes on to mention one unexpected guy who made an appearance in her romantic past: NSYNC’s Joey Fatone! ”He took me to Friendly’s on a date and he bought me an ice cream. Such a sweetheart. He asked my dad’s permission!” This story is bringing me a ridiculous amount of joy. Rock on, Pink. [Us Weekly]
In America we’ve got Build-A-Bear and American Girl Stores to indulge your inner child and/or eavesdrop on temper tantrums. Taipei, Taiwan, one-ups us in the girliest way possible with its newly opened Barbie Cafe. It’s got hot pink decor, waitresses in tiaras, and macarons served in martini glasses. Barbies, of course, adorn all of the walls.

“I was lawyering the shit out of the situation. I was like, ‘You know what? Will you just come here and fuck me?’ And he was like, ‘Wha-wha-what?’ I was like, ‘Yeah! I’m done fighting. Just come here and fuck me — that’s all this is about.’ He was like, ‘OK!’”
--Pink, on how she ended a six-hour fight with husband Carey Hart by changing her mind and opting for sex instead. She later goes on to explain in her Advocate interview that the fighting happens because”It’s usually that you feel vulnerable, that you feel powerless, that you feel out of control, that you feel scared,” she explains. “I’m a pit bull, but I’m a toothless pit bull. I will totally attack, but I just really wanted you to rub my tummy. Why when I bite you do you not understand that I just want you to rub my tummy?” [The Advocate]
A Frisky reader sent me the lyric video for Pink’s new song “Slut Like Me” and asked what I think. To be honest, musically, I think it sucks. But I have a feeling he was asking what I really think about Pink owning the word “slut” and using it to describe herself — which I’m cool with in my own life. We have to be aware of the nuanced differences between how different people use “offensive words.” Those words can be powerful or harmful depending on who is using them and how. It’s totally different when I call myself a slut in a positive, pat-on-the-back way than it is when an angry man calls me a slut because I rejected him at a bar. (Or, you know, Rush Limbaugh calls Sandra Fluke a “slut.”) “Slut Like Me” is no great piece of music, though. I wish it was worthy of the debate over women using the word “slut” that it is going to cause! [YouTube]
Sampat Pal Devi is a mother of five and former government worker who was fed up with the high numbers of domestic violence and abuse cases in her native India. So she started a girl gang. Listen, I’ve never thought of Pink (binomial: P!nk) as a particularly well-dressed person, but this is a new low nonetheless. On the bright side, I like her pastel quiff! Seriously though, am I overreacting or is this actually one of the most unseemly dresses ever created? You decide.
Hey! Guess what? Pink is too edgy for a bra in a video message to announce her forthcoming album The Truth About Love. Duct tape X’s are more her style. Hey! Quit looking at her nipples and look at her lovely face, would you? And yeah, buy her new album. It’s out September 18. We’ve rounded up a few more celebs who’ve done the duct tape on nipple thing. I never thought I’d say this, but Jessica Alba might just be my celebrity style icon at the moment. She’s does casual so well. She manages to look super cool and comfortable without dressing like a total schlub. Here, in a polka-dotted shirt, pink pants, and cute little mules, she is the epitome of Chic Mom. Which makes sense, since she is one.
Dusty pink is such a beautiful, romantic color. It’s much quieter than its loud cousin hot pink, more complex than its simple sister light pink, and–surprise!–it actually works on a variety of skin tones. Here are seven dusty pink dresses we’re currently lusting after. Click through to check ‘em out!
