Following in mom’s fashionable footsteps, Sally Draper — as in Don and Betty’s daughter on Mad Men — recently modeled Burberry Prorsum for Interview Magazine. Kiernan Shipka, the 10-year-old who plays Sally, actually looks weirdly appropriate wearing clothes ten sizes too big and 20 years too old for her. Julianne Moore is part a of a very small group of famous women who act and dress their age and look great doing it. She usually gives me hope about getting older. So when I saw her on the cover of The New York Times’ spring issue of T magazine, I couldn’t help but feel a twinge of sadness. The usually classy Moore is made up like a poor man’s geisha … Or a newbie starlet who has little choice but to deal with every stupid idea a magazine has just to get the publicity. She of the crazy clothes can be found this month in the mag’s pages clad as scantily as ever, but they’ve traded in her usual avant-garde fare for plenty of skin, black leather, a whole lot of blood-smearing and the sort of skeleton-loving we’re pretty sure can’t be totally legal. Wonderbra is trying to organize the world’s biggest underwear shoot ever, and let me tell you, there is a lot of competition in this category. They’re looking for 1,000 women in London to photograph in their new line of bras. We smell a bigger version of Dove’s Campaign for Real Beauty.
