Zoe Kravitz Is The New Face Of Vera Wang Princess

It’s only fitting that Zoe Kravitz, the offspring of rock and Hollywood royalty, would be the spokesmodel for Vera Wang Princess perfume. It’s too bad she was photographed in that tragic wig. Keep reading »

$10,000 Buys You A Lifetime Of Not Smelling Like The Joneses

Sure, in a perfect world, our favorite fragrance would be all our own. It would be an exclusive scent that smells like no other, and when we left a room, people would say, “Oh, it still smells like her,” and sigh wistfully. (For that matter, no one would have the same H&M dresses either, hate that.) Sadly, that privilege isn’t exactly realistic when you consider that L’Artisan Parfumeur is selling that very exclusivity to the tune of $10,000. For that low, low price, you can purchase one of eight new couture fragrances that comes with a “certificate of authentication,” and twelve bottles of various sizes. You may also opt to purchase another bottle for $450 at some point during your lifetime, and can will the certificate, or “ownership,” of the scent to your heirs. Personally, if I was rich and decided to blow 10 grand on some perfume, I would kind of want some say in choosing what it smelled like. But then again I’d probably be too lazy busy eating bonbons in bed sooo …. [Stylelist] Keep reading »

Beauty Test Drive: Benefit Crescent Row Fragrances

We know and love Benefit’s cosmetics well — their Bad Gal eyeliner and Dr. Feelgood complexion primer have been makeup bag staples forever — but we don’t exactly think of them first when it comes to perfume. Strike that notion, because their newish Crescent Row line beats out any old Britney Spears fragrance launch any day. In fact, we bring them up now because the gorgeously ornate, fold-out boxes they come in make them a great holiday gift idea. Out of the three scents ($36 each), you’re bound to find one that’s perfect for a friend or yourself, ahem. There’s Something About Sophia, a blend of oriental blossoms, mango and vanilla; Laugh With Me Lee Lee, a woody floral blend of jasmine and lily; and My Place Or Yours Gina, an intriguing mix of red pepper, patchouli and wild raspberry. We love the vintage cocktail shaker bottle, too. So cute. Keep reading »

The Gap Has A New Perfume!

Usually, I go to The Gap for staple pieces. But Patrick Robinson is revitalizing the brand with must-have items, like the newest Pierre Hardy boots. Those are majorly swoon-worthy. Now, he’s introducing a brand-new perfume to the store called Close.

Created with perfume house Givaudan, the new fragrance is a mix of salty and citrus, which already has me intrigued, but Patrick explains it by saying, “The salty part – that’s human nature, that’s how you get people close to you. The citrus part makes them stay.” The bottle design is sleek and elegant, allowing the scent to speak for itself instead of being overpowered by aesthetics. Plus, it’s a huge steal at $35, and a fragrance that’s perfect for day-to-day wear. Could this be my newest fragrance for during the day? What’s your go-to perfume? [Grazia] Keep reading »

SJP Gets Carried Away With A Third Fragrance

She’s already launched Lovely and Covet, but Sarah Jessica Parker isn’t ready to end her perfume rampage. Along with the newest “Sex and the City” movie, Carrie’s real life fashion maven created SJP, NYC. Because when you already have two perfumes, why not make a trio, right?

The newest scent will launch in February and is capitalizing on the obsession many have with Carrie Bradshaw and her bold fashion sense. “A large part of the inspiration was what I now understand to be people’s impressions of seeing Carrie Bradshaw walk down the street and what feelings that evokes for her and for them — a real sense of freedom and possibilities, a love for the city around her and, of course, fashion,” she said of the new perfume. But, after her last two classy fragrance bottles, the newest one is a little lacking in elegant design, no? How do you feel about the leopard and zebra print paired with bright blue? Would Carrie approve? [WWD] Keep reading »

Who Wants To Smell Like Kim Kardashian?

Behold the scent of Kim Kardashian. With her booming reality TV career, it was only a matter of seconds before Kim decided to launch her first fragrance. But she says the perfume creation has been in progress since she was little and she and Kourtney would mix flower petals together in the blender. Yet this scent is way more refined, complete with hints of jasmine, gardenia, and sandalwood. This February Sephora will begin to stock Kim’s perfume, which will cost $16-65. Keep reading »

Now You Can Smell Like A Laundromat On The Cheap!

Demeter, the super cute line of highly specific single-note fragrances (you may remember them for creating timeless classics such as Dirt and Play-Doh), will now be made available to the masses via CVS drugstores. Their library contains over 250 fragrances. So, for this launch they’ve whittled down the options and will sell Baby Powder, Pure Soap, Patchouli, Honeysuckle, Laundromat and Lilac. It’s sad if you don’t see your favorite listed, but here’s the good news: While they’re usually sold for $10-$20, you can score them at CVS for $6-$10. How very, um, “recessionista” of them.
