Funny story: I was planning to do a roundup of all different kinds of comfort foods, but then I asked my Twitter followers for their favorite comfort foods, and pretty much everyone said “MAC AND CHEESE,” and I was like, damn, I guess I need to do a whole post dedicated to cheesy pasta deliciousness. So that’s what I’m doing. Click through for 10 mouthwatering mac and cheese recipes, from classic to gourmet to vegan(!), and stay tuned for more comfort food favorites in the coming weeks…
“Eating all the pasta” is an innate skill for those of us born with Italian blood, but the rest of you have probably dealt with the phenomena of making “too much” spaghetti and being unable to finish it all. Solve that problem with this genius pasta storage container, which comes with a “measuring cap” that dispenses your long noodle of choice in four different portion sizes. As my preferred pasta portion size is “medium farm animal,” I would probably use the two-person cap, of course. Buon appetito! [$23, Monkey Business]
Last week, in honor of our mission to “Get Bitchin’ In The Kitchen,” I asked you to send me your favorite recipes for a forthcoming slideshow. Well, I got so many recipes that one slideshow just ain’t gonna suffice. Instead, I’m going to post the recipes over the course of the week — and I’m still accepting more, so send ‘em (to firstname.lastname@example.org) if you got ‘em! Also, I genuinely prefer the taste of dried whole wheat pasta over dried semolina pasta. (However, if I go out for Italian food, it’s fresh, yummy, doughy semolina pasta all the way.) After the jump, my full recipe for Pasta Al Limone. Keep reading »
When it comes to pasta there’s spaghetti, bow ties, pin-wheels, spirals, and now … boobs. That’s right, this chi-chi shaped pasta is only $10 from Fred Flare. It gives a whole to meaning to the question, “What’s for dinner?” Keep reading »
