Be tough, be smart, don’t forget to lovingly groom your moustache — and save all the bacon you possibly can. That’s what “Parks and Recreation”‘s Ron Swanson recommends, especially considering we’re supposedly heading into a bacon shortage. You might, like Ron, want to consider all of your bacon hiding spots, okay? The more you know … [YouTube]
Who knew that April Ludgate, Leslie Knope, and Ann Perkins were so damn stylish? The “Parks and Recreation” trifecta cleaned up ever-so-nicely for an event hosted by Glamour, and I barely recognized the Pawnee politicians out of their buttoned-up office attire. Do you think they carpooled? I hope they carpooled. I want to be invited to that carpool.
“There’s a lot of things people don’t know about Adam. He loves taking off his pants. Just takes them down all the time. Literally, he cannot keep his pants on. Like, we’ll be doing a scene and we’ll look down and Adam won’t have any pants on, and we’ll be like, ‘Adam! We’re in Senator Boxer’s office! Put your pants back on!’ And he’s like, ‘Oh.’”

I love “Parks and Recreation,” especially the very special “Treat Yo Self” episode, wherein Donna Meagle and Tom Haverford spend the entire day pampering themselves with luxuries. “Clothes. Treat yo self. Fragrances. Treat yo self. Massages. Treat yo self. Mimosas. Treat yo self. Fine leather goods. Treat yo self. It’s the best day of the year,” explain Tom and Donna. And in honor of them, I’m getting this mug. Kind of says it all, doesn’t it?
Illustrator Kyle Hinton creates paper dolls based on his favorite TV characters, and man does he have good taste. He’s paper-ized the cast of “Arrested Development” and “Breaking Bad” and now he’s tackling “Parks And Recreation”. This little Ron Swanson is so perfect, from his well-groomed mustache to the turkey leg accessory. Check out Kyle’s website to print him out. (Bonus: it’s free!) [Flannel Animal] Keep reading »
Ron Swanson, of “Parks and Recreation,” loves bacon-wrapped shrimp. It’s “my number one food wrapped around my number three favorite food,” which is but one of the myriad reasons why he’s our favorite mustachioed guy on primetime TV. Click on the video to hear him wax philosophical on all of his beloved foods (which are mostly steak and whiskey). Keep reading »
You knew we were obsessed with our food rakes and our chicky chicky parm parm after “Parks and Recreation”‘s Tom Haverford (played by Aziz Ansari) came up with a list of special Tom-centric food terms. And now we’ve got a whole bunch of new Tom Haverfordisms to memorize and incorporate into our food vocabularies. Gum? Chew Chew Trains. Light beer? Funky Soda. Dumplings? Lil’ Surprises, of course. Click to see several other Haverfoods after the jump! (And even more at the link.) [TomHaverfoods.com] Keep reading »
Today’s very important GIF comes to us by way of last Thursday’s life-changing episode of “Parks and Recreation,” in which Aziz Ansari’s character, Tom Haverford, breaks down his own Haverfordian food names. Whatever. The point is, you really want to know what a pre-bird is, trust us. Keep reading »
Rob Lowe always seemed like a stuffed shirt nowadays to me — a hot stuffed shirt, mind you — based on his buttoned up roles on “The West Wing” and “Brothers & Sisters.” It turns out the guy can bust a move and he did so Thursday night on “Parks & Recreation.” NYmag.com’s Vulture blog aptly calls it “seizure in a club”! Maybe Rob learned how to dance like this from his days hanging out with Charlie Sheen? [NYmag.com] Keep reading »
