Oh hello there. Did you just catch me listening/watching this never-ending loop of Ron Swanson from “Parks & Rec” dancing to a new track from Daft Punk at the Snakehole? Well, I’ll just be here a little while longer, enjoying the Swanson glow. Carry on friends, carry on. [YouTube] Keep reading »
Rashida Jones and Amy Poehler star on “Parks & Recreation” together and they’re also friends in real life. This past weekend, the gals went out with Rashida’s sisters and mom to celebrate her birthday, and this amazing picture was the result. “Ain’t nobody fresher than my m-f’in clique.” So true.
Guys, I know I push “Parks and Rec” on you all the time, but it’s really because I feel like it’s one of the few awesomely quirky weirdo shows out there. Plus, Ron Swanson’s mustache! Plus, Amy Poehler’s character Leslie Knope is actually rather headstrong and confident and a good role model. So many popular female characters are deeply and annoyingly insecure or fall into familiar tropes (the bitch, the harpy, the manic pixie), but Leslie is just Leslie: kind of nerdy, but super smart and accomplished and winsome. And, oh, here’ s a funny “Downton Abbey”/”Parks and Rec” parody, involving quotes from “P&R” paired with Downton’s dramatic images. [Downton Pawnee]
We’re still not quite over the death of Pawnee, Indiana’s littlest hero, Li’l Sebastian, the mini-horse and town mascot. Thankfully, someone’s trying to get to the bottom of his death, in this mega-mashup parody “Parks and Recreation: The Movie: The Murder: The Li’l Sebastian.” We’re thinking Leslie Knope, in the barnyard, with a candlestick. Have you been going through “Breaking Bad”/Mike Ehrmantraut withdrawal? Good thing actor Jonathan Banks, who played Walter White’s crusty foil on “BB,” did a guest spot on “Parks And Recreation” last night, playing Ben Wyatt’s dad. He seems to have brought a lot of Mike to the role.
“It was a real honor that in my sitcom debut I got to meet someone like Leslie Knope, who believes so deeply in public service. She’s an example for men and women across the country that there’s no higher calling than helping other people. On a personal note, I’ll never figure out how Leslie Knope got my home phone number, but that really just shows how committed she is.”
–Vice President Joe Biden expresses his delight about making a cameo on “Parks and Recreation” alongside Amy Poehler’s character Leslie Knope, who has an infamous crush on him. As Leslie explained last season, “Joe Biden is on my celebrity sex list–well, he is my celebrity sex list.” Excited to see the pair’s sexual chemistry in action? Biden’s episode airs November 15th.
