Oprah’s Tired Of Lindsay Lohan’s Bullshit, And Is The Only Person Not Afraid To Tell Her

Oprahs-Tired-Of-Lindsay-Lohans-Bullshit-And-Is-The-Only-Person-Not-Afraid-To-Tell-Her
"You need to cut the bullshit."

Despite all of Lindsay Lohan’s countless fuck-ups, she still appears to be surrounded by entourage of sycophants. Everyone, that is, but Oprah Winfrey. Documentary filmmaker Amy Rice teamed up with OWN for a new docu-series that gives a peek behind the curtain of the troubled actress’ life.

“There’s nothing left in having a drink for me…There’s no party that I haven’t gone to, there’s no person that I haven’t hung out with, there’s no situation that, you know, I haven’t been exposed to,” Lilo crows in the trailer’s opening sequence, more like a 77-year-old than a 27-year-old. Take A Tour Of Gloria Steinem’s Fabulous NYC Apartment

Gloria Steinem Doc
We loved "Gloria: In Her Own Words." Read More »
You won't believe how much she paid for it!

As Gloria Steinem walks Oprah through the beautiful and elaborately decorated NYC apartment she’s lived in since 1966, it’s hard to imagine that until recently, she treated it as a temporary home. “For years and years and years I lived out of cardboard boxes,” says Steinem. “I was brought up to think you didn’t make a home [without] husband and children–you didn’t make it for yourself.” We’re glad she finally settled in, because it’s fascinating to get a glimpse into Steinem’s home life, from the travel mementos and feminist artwork to the living room where she launched Ms. Magazine. The sprawling apartment is worth millions now, but you won’t believe how much she paid for it when she and five of her single pals bought it in the late 80s (hint: it was less than a quarter of the price of Avril Lavigne’s wedding ring). Yep, time to cry. [Refinery 29]

Woman Prefers Her Laundry Basket To Her Husband’s Penis

Masturbation Myths
Stupid misconceptions men have about the way women masturbate. Read More »
Dry Humping
An argument in favor of old school dry humping. Read More »

Just found this little gem and thought I’d share. On a recent-ish episode of “In The Bedroom With Dr. Laura,” sexually dissatisfied wife Becky opens up about about her unusual self-pleasuring technique. She likes to hump the corner of her laundry basket to climax — she’s been masturbating this way since college. Fascinating! I am still trying to unpack the logistics of this hump session, but hey, to each her own! Becky’s dependence on her hamper has gotten so out of control that she prefers grinding the basket to grinding her husband Steve’s really “large” penis. The worst part of the whole segment is that Steve silently stands by while Becky tells Dr. Laura what a wimp he is in the sack. Poor guy. Talk about being completely emasculated. But then again, there’s no denying that clean laundry is sexy as hell. Unfortunately, I can’t share the clip, but you can watch it here. [Oprah]

We fell in love with Zach Anner when we saw his early submission to Oprah Winfrey’s OWN network’s “Next Reality Star” competition. Wheelchair-bound Zach, who was born with cerebral palsy, wanted to make a travel show, showing that his disability wasn’t going to stop him from exploring the world around him. Zach won us — and about a zillion other fans — over with his quirky humor, and lucky for him and all of us, Zach got his own show. These days he’s traversing the globe filming “Rollin’ With Zach.” Check out a short teaser above — featuring a theme song by John Mayer. [Oprah]

Today’s Lady News: Watch “Miss Representation” On OWN Tonight

Today's Lady News
  • Tonight is the television premiere of “Miss Representation,” a new documentary about how women are depicted in the mass media. The doc was written, directed and produced by Jennifer Siebel Newson and features commentary from Katie Couric, Rachel Maddow, Gloria Steinem, Nancy Pelosi, Condoleezza Rice, Margaret Cho, Rosario Dawson, and my friend Jennifer L. Pozner, who runs a feminist media watchdog group called Women In Media & News. “Miss Representation” is airing at 9 p.m. (EST) on OWN, Oprah’s network — make sure you watch! [MissRepresentation.org]
  • An FBI subcommittee voted unanimously yesterday to change the official definition of “rape” so it includes a broader range of rapes other than just “forcible” ones against women. The existing definition did not encompass rapes committed against men or rapes that were not physically aggressive, such as those committed after slipping roofies in a person’s drink. The definition still needs to be approved by FBI Director Robert Mueller, however. [Feminist.org] Keep reading »

Oprah’s Dream: Getting OJ Simpson’s Confession

“I now have the time to be committed to the nurturing of this network. The vacation I thought I was going to have is kind of over, at least for the time being. I have committed everything I have to this cable venture. I wouldn’t bet against me … I have a dream of O.J. Simpson confessing to me and I am going to make that happen, people. I don’t just want the interview. I want the interview on the condition that you are ready, Mr. Simpson.”

Oprah tells The Hollywood Reporter that she is now 100% in over at OWN, the Oprah Winfrey Network. Her biggest dream for the station? Getting OJ Simpson, who is currently in prison for kidnapping and robbery, to tell the truth about what happened to Nicole Brown Simpson. If anyone can make it happen, it’s the Big O. 6 Concepts For Pippa Middleton’s New TV Show

pippa middleton photo

Pippa Middleton’s backside is already famous. If The Enquirer’s sources are accurate, we may be seeing a whole lot more of P-Middy from the front. Word on the ‘bloid circuit is that Oprah Winfrey is pursuing Pippa to become daytime royalty at OWN. Yes, you read that correctly, Pippa Middleton may get her OWN talk show. After the jump, some concepts for Pippa’s talk show, if it’s really happening, that is. [Celebitchy] Keep reading »

Chaz Bono Had To Relearn How To Be In A Relationship After He Transitioned

“We had to really almost re-learn how to communicate and how to be around each other. Suddenly [things I used to say] didn’t mean the same thing to her. And so we really had to, you know, adjust our — how we did things and relearn how to be together.”

Chaz Bono on his relationship with his partner, Jennifer Elia, post-transition. This is so fascinating to me. I really admire couples who manage to stay together through such intense life experiences. I’m really excited to see the documentary, “Becoming Chaz,” which aired earlier this week on OWN. Check out the trailer here. [iVillage] Keep reading »

Oprah’s Network To Air Documentary “Becoming Chaz” About Cher’s Transgender Son

You might expect movies to go straight from the uber-crunchy Sundance Film Festival to, say, the uber-crunchy Independent Film Channel (IFC). But one Sundance documentary of serious cultural import will go a more mainstream route: Oprah’s new network, OWN, will air the television premiere of “Becoming Chaz,” about Chaz Bono‘s gender reassignment surgery. Chaz, the transgender son of Cher and Sonny Bono, was born “Chastity.” But he realized his true self was male and has gone through the long process to make the physical and emotional transformation. (Luckily he has the support of his femme girlfriend of four years, Jennifer Elia.) “Becoming Chaz” debuts at Sundance on January 23 and should air on OWN in May. I’m super-happy that OWN is using its mainstream appeal to give transgendered men and women visibility (than, say, the catchphrase “hot tranny mess”). I’m hoping Cher speaks up in the documentary, too, even if it’s just to tell other parents of transgender kids that she, too, sometimes forgets not to call her son “her”! What Would Your TV Show Be About?

So everrrrrrybody’s talking about Oprah’s new Oprah Winfrey Network business–and we’re not gonna lie, we’re watching. The show we’re most psyched on? Her Machiavellian-tinged “Your OWN Show: Oprah’s Search for the Next TV Star.” The show pits 12 regular folks against each other for the chance to, yes, have their own show on the fledgling Oprah-fied network. Most of the prospectives have either cooking program or talk show plans. But not our personal frontrunner: Zach Anner, a 25-year-old guy with cerebral palsy who’s aiming to make a travel show about all the things that go wrong when you travel. He describes his cerebral palsy as “the sexy palsy,” so you know he’s got a sense of humor. Plus, it’s refreshing to see a differently-abled person on television. It also got us thinking: what would we do if we had our own television show? Most likely it would involve traveling, cute animals and random make-out session-filled cameos from Joseph Gordon-Levitt. What about you? Tell us about your television show dreams in the comments. Keep reading »
