T-minus three days until the Oscars, and people are starting to wonder—what do hosts James Franco and Anne Hathaway have up their sleeves? Yesterday, James posted this 19-second clip on Twitter, which shows him and Anne recreating “You’re The One That I Want” from “Grease.” In it, James has his hair slicked back a la John Travolta and Anne looks just as dope as Olivia Newton-John in the iconic shiny leggings. And they appear to be on a carnival set. So will they be performing this number at the Oscars? Guess we’ll have to wait and see. [People]

The Oscars are going down on Sunday night—yes, like this week—and James Franco and Anne Hathaway are totally ready. In the awesome promo above, James runs an Oscar-carrying obstacle course, knocking over mannequins in evening gowns to cross the finish line in time. And in the one after the jump, Anne completes her teleprompter speed reading trial with surprising accuracy. I dunno about you, but I think these two could be pretty great as co-hosts. Oscar Theory #10: The Academy Loves A Crazy Female Character

I’m not sure exactly how time is passing so quickly, but we are now only nine days away from the Oscars. To be clear—that’s one week and two days. As the big day creeps closer and closer, people seem to be feeling more confident that Natalie Portman will win Best Actress for her ballerina-gone-loco turn in “Black Swan.” Why? Well, because she won both the Golden Globe and the SAG awards for the role. Also, she’s pregnant and that often bodes well for Oscar contenders. Plus, as Newsweek so delicately put it in headline a few weeks ago: “Want to Win an Oscar? Play a Crazy Chick.”

Jesse Eisenberg Says Dressing Up For Awards Shows Is Like Going To A Bar Mitzvah

T-minus 18 days until the Oscars and, of course, we are all starting to place bets on who we think will walk away with little golden men this year. Luckily, the Academy has proven itself to be pretty darn predictable over the years. If you’re America’s Sweetheart, you’ll probably win Best Actress. If you sings in a flick, you are almost guaranteed Oscar gold. But there’s another trend we’ve been noticing lately: the winners for Best Actress and Best Actor tend to be the person who’s taken on the based-on-a-true-story role. Could James Franco Be The First Oscar Host To Also Win?

James Franco is getting way into the singing and dancing required for his Oscar co-hosting duties on February 27th. “This weekend we did shoot some of the pre-tape sections. Anne Hathaway and I did some dancing, some choreographed dancing, and I recorded some vocal tracks,” he said. “I had a great coach. He pulled it out of me. It really makes me want to do a musical on Broadway.” James is also excited that he’ll be able to bring his Grandma, of Funny or Die fame, to the soiree. “That’s one of the nice things about being the host is you get to invite a bunch of people,” he said. “So [my family is] all coming. Grandma is coming and she might just be on camera.” [OK Magazine]

Scientists Confirm The Oscar Curse: Best Actress Winners Are Likely To Divorce

It’s easy to name stars who won the Oscar for Best Actress and went on to see their relationships go belly up—Joan Crawford, Bette Davis, Halle Berry, Hilary Swank, Reese Witherspoon, Kate Winslet, and of course last year’s winner, Sandra Bullock. There sure seems to be some sort of Oscar Curse going on. But scientists from the University of Toronto wanted to see if was scientifically legit or just paranoia. After crunching the numbers, they found that of the 265 married women who have been nominated for Best Actress from the beginning of the modern Oscars in 1936 to the present, 159 of them got divorced.
