The Fabulous Life Of J. Crew Creative Director Jenna Lyons

On yesterday’s show, Oprah learned about an assortment of dream jobs, including Jenna Lyon‘s position as J. Crew’s creative director. Not only does Jenna have an amazing career, but everything about her life is seemingly perfect, too. She calls a gorgeous Brooklyn townhouse home (bedroom-sized closet, of course), has a handsome husband and a cute kid, gets all the J. Crew clothes she wants, and somehow manages to get home by 6:30 p.m. every evening. Watch a day in her life above, but be prepared to feel some serious pangs of jealousy. [Oprah] Keep reading »

OctoMom Brings The Crazy Train To Oprah

Yesterday, Oprah brought the OctoMom’s Crazy Coo-Coo Bananas Show to our living room, spending the hour with Nadya Suleman and her brood. In the clip above, one of Nadya’s toddlers “riverdances” (to quote Michael K.) all over one of the octuplets, until Suleman finally notices and declares the baby-stomping “not OK.” Then Suleman coerces her older son Elijah into going to school by telling him Child Protective Services and the police would come to take him away if he doesn’t. Think long and hard about that one, Elijah. [Dlisted] Keep reading »

Quotable: Oprah Subtly Disses Kitty Kelley’s “So-Called Biography”

“Last week was a rough week for Gayle. Every day, she’s getting herself more and more worked up about all of my new daddies that are now showing up. New daddies who are saying, ‘Hello, daughter! Call me. I need a new roof!’ This too shall pass.”

Oprah Winfrey subtly referencing Kitty Kelley’s new book, which makes the claim that Vernon Winfrey isn’t actually the Big O’s papa, at the New York Women in Communications Matrix Awards. [Examiner] Keep reading »

Mo’Nique’s Brother Apologizes For Molesting His Sister

Few actresses could have portrayed a mom who abuses her daughter physically, verbally, and sexually with the nuance that Mo’Nique showed in “Precious.” Soon after making the movie, she explained what inspired her Oscar-winning performance—she was molested when she was a child by her older brother. Ever since, her brother, Gerald Imes, has denied her claims—even after serving 12 years in prison for molesting another unidentified girl. But yesterday, he sat down on Oprah‘s couch to not only fess up, but to apologize to Mo’Nique. “I’m here today to first acknowledge that I’ve been in denial for 37 years,” he said. “I did assault and inappropriately touch my sister in manners that were uncomfortable for her. And for that, I apologize and I’m humbly sorry that those actions had taken place.” Keep reading »

Oprah Tell-All Is Missing Juicy Gossip

Author Kitty Kelley has dug up some interesting dirt on the Bush family, Frank Sinatra, and Nancy Reagan, but her most recent tell-all, Oprah: A Biography, apparently doesn’t tell much about the media queen. Kelley conducted more than 850 interviews for her unauthorized biography that hit bookshelves today, and what she learned is that Oprah is extremely driven. Um, I think most people already knew that. Those hoping to get the juicy gossip regarding Oprah and her fiance of more than 17 years, Stedman Graham, have to wait for another biography. In addition, the book doesn’t answer rumors that Oprah is in a gay relationship with best gal pal Gayle King. If anything, Kelley told Reuters that Oprah could be ” ‘asexual’ because she has put all of her sexual energies into her work, into her career, into building her empire and the financial rewards that she has gotten have been enough, really, to sustain her.” But even with out any gossip, I’m sure Oprah: A Biography is an inspiring tale for someone looking to escape their harsh upbringing. The Many Loves Of Oprah Winfrey

I’m sure the Big O has been bracing herself for the release of her unauthorized biography by Kitty Kelley due out today. Of course, a few people got their grubby paws on advanced copies, so the mudslinging and dirt-dishing got off to an early start. I’m thinking that Oprah must be outraged about the allegations in the book that her Aunt Katherine has accused her of lying about her sexual abuse. I’m not going to touch that one. But I will touch on the details of her relationship with John Tesh. According to the book, Tesh, pianist and former host of “Entertainment Tonight,” had a serious relationship with Oprah when they worked together in Nashville in her early 20s. They even lived together for a time before the pressures of an interracial relationship proved to be too much for him to handle and he bolted in the middle of the night. Uh oh, that’s not cute. After the jump, some other dudes (and one lady) who we think may get a chapter in the book of O. Keep reading »

What We Know About The Oprah Winfrey Network So Far

You’ve got to have a stone-cold heart to not love Shania Twain. And maybe that’s why Oprah gave the country singer her OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network) show called “Why Not?” A statement from the network said, “The show will follow Twain as she begins her climb back to the top, a personal journey filled with risk, revelations and unexpected adventures.” After her bestie snagged her husband, Twain fell in love with her bestie’s ex-husband Frédéric Thiébaud and has been traveling the world with him and her son, posting videos on her website of them sky-diving in Florida, riding camels in Egypt, and bike riding in London. I’m still reeling from her gorgeousness in the “That Don’t Impress Me Much” video, so I don’t know if I can handle my jealousy for a half-hour show. [People]

But really, I’m actually legitimately excited for Oprah’s network—sounds like there are some pretty awesome things going down. Here’s what we know so far. Keep reading »

11 Questions We Want Oprah To Ask Rielle Hunter

Oprah has scored the first on-air interview with Rielle Hunter and we’re hoping she brings out the Big O guns and doesn’t ask suuuper boring questions like reporters did at Tiger Woods’ press conference this week. And because we’re busy bodies super helpful, here are 10 questions that we’d like to see Oprah ask John Edwards‘ mistress. Keep reading »

Jessica Simpson Discusses John Mayer And That “Mom Jeans” Fiasco With Oprah

On yesterday’s episode of “Oprah,” Jessica Simpson responded for the first time to John Mayer‘s blabbermouth statement to Playboy — that she’s like crack in the sack. He, for the record, apologized to her in writing (email or text, we wonder) and she has not and doesn’t plan on accepting it. Good for her! After all the rumors about Jessica still pining away for Mayer, it’s nice to see her standing up for herself, but also seeming disinterested in his smarmy ass. Keep reading »
