Robin Givens really wanted to “sock” Oprah Winfrey after her recent interview with Mike Tyson. Why? When discussing the couple’s 1988 interview with Barbara Walters, Tyson told the Big O that Robin was telling lies about claims of domestic violence. Tyson said, “At that particular moment, I truly wanted to sock her, but I just didn’t do it. I have socked her before, and she socked me before, as well. It was just that kind of relationship.” Sure sounds like domestic violence to me. I wonder what it was that Givens was lying about? And oddly, the audience laughed at this comment and an out-of-character Oprah was silent. Well, Givens was not silent about her feelings about it. She was “really, really hurt” by the laughter and Oprah’s silence.

• The National Enquirer is reporting that Stedman Graham, Oprah Winfrey‘s long-time beau, has left the Queen of All Media because he’s tired of being disrespected by the O. [Inquisitr]—I’ve never liked Stedman for Oprah, but I don’t think there’s a man on this planet who could be her equal.

Oprah Winfrey and her production company, Harpo Inc., is being sued for $1 trillion for allegedly plagiarizing part of author Damon Lloyd Goffe’s book, A Tome of Poetry, in her internet-published book Pieces of my Soul. The copyright infringement suit was filed on July 31, and Goffe says that Winfrey even admitted to using his book a year ago. “In April 2008, Oprah confessed to seizing original works of authorship.” And since Winfrey allegedly sold 650 million copies of her book online for $20 each, Goffe thinks he deserves $1.2 trillion in damages. If you are as big of an Oprah fan as I am—(I have been watching since I was 8, have written multiple letters trying to get on the show, and own the exhaustive Oprah Anniversary DVD collection. Moral of story, I heart Oprah.)—then you are also feeling bitter that you weren’t able to force yourself aboard Oprah’s debaucherous 10-day cruise with her 2,000 most valued employees and, err…gal pal…Gayle. Steadman couldn’t make it, AGAIN. No comment. While I was at home sweating in my humid apartment and taking cold showers while imagining that I was in a swimming pool, Oprah’s crew was tearing it up on the open seas. When I heard about an Oprah comic book, I snickered. Not the classiest reaction ever, but I thought it was kinda funny that Oprah had sort of already conquered the world, but now was going to be illustrated doing so in a cape. While I still think a caped crusader-style Oprah would be nifty, it turns out I got my original facts wrong. Oprah does not, in fact, star in her own comic book series, but is the cover girl of the comic book series “Female Force” September issue.

As you know, David Letterman’s been getting a lot of flack for opening up his trap about Sarah Palin and her family. He won’t shut up about it. She won’t shut up about it. And obviously we can’t shut up about it. So after the jump, I’d like to take you on a trip down memory lane to reminisce about some older Letterman feuds that people also couldn’t shut up about.

Women are on top of the world—the celeb world that is. Angelina Jolie, Oprah Winfrey, Madonna and Beyonce Knowles claimed the top four spots on Forbes’ just-released 2009 Celebrity 100 List. Actually, a quarter of the list is female including some of our favorites: Twilight author, Stephenie Meyer (#26), Ellen DeGeneres (#40), Meryl Streep (#64), Serena Williams (#67), Taylor Swift (#69), Gisele Bundchen (#72) and race car driver Danica Patrick (#100). The real shocker is, of course, that Angelina snagged the top spot from Oprah, who’s been number one for the last two years running. Although Oprah earned 10 times more than Angie last year, she apparently didn’t get as much star-studded coverage in mags and newspapers and on TV. What’s especially strange is that Forbes cites Jolie’s blockbuster “Wanted” as a major reason she reached this pinnacle. Yeah, it made $340 million, but it’s still got nothing on an Oprah’s Favorite Things episode.

Hear us out. We can see your fingers poised over the “comment” button already! Allow us to make a case for the argument that maybe it wasn’t such a thing for Anna Wintour to suggest Oprah lose weight before she ended up on the cover of Vogue:

Funny lady Jenny McCarthy has inked a multi-year, multi-platform deal with Oprah Winfrey’s Harpo Productions. The projects include a syndicated talk show and a blog on Oprah.com, which Jenny launched last Friday, discussing PMS and sugar. Rachael Ray and Dr. Phil became household names after making frequent appearances on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” and signing deals with Harpo, so the chances of Jenny becoming another Oprah protege-turned-TV mogul are high. She’s discussed her struggles with her son’s autism and published several books, including Louder Than Words: A Mother’s Journey in Healing Autism and Mother Warriors: A Nation of Parents Healing Autism Against All Odds. Jenny, a former Playboy model who hosted MTV’s “Singled Out” in the ‘90s, seems like an unlikely choice for Oprah. Would you watch a talk show hosted by Jenny McCarthy? [The Hollywood Reporter]

Supposedly, Rihanna can’t decide whether to take Chris Brown back after he allegedly beat the crap out of her in February, so she has reportedly demanded he publicly apologize to her on “Oprah.” Rihanna has been talking to Oprah Winfrey on a regular basis since the media mogul cautioned the singer against reconciling with Chris. But a public apology really won’t help Rihanna make up her mind because either she believes he’s remorseful or not. This just sounds like a bad idea for all three parties involved.

This weekend, I posted a how to on my hairdo, the pompadour.  But even after seven years of stylin’,  I ain’t got nothin’ on these FLDS polygamists. Heck, Peggy Bundy would kill for their kind of poof! Sigh, especially after watching three seasons of Nicki pomp up the volume on “Big Love”, I want the big hair hotness too!  And so does Oprah. In case you live in a cave and have somehow avoided seeing images of Oprah recently, she’s put on some weight in the last couple of years: 40 pounds to be exact. In the January issue of O Magazine, out on newsstands today, Oprah opens up about her continued weight struggle in what’s become her signature way: like she’s confessing her sins — or at least her deepest vulnerabilities — to her closest confidante. “I’m embarrassed,” she writes. “I can’t believe that after all these years, all the things I know how to do, I’m still talking about my weight. I look at my thinner self and think, `How did I let this happen again?”’ 

Oprah Winfrey told “Extra” last week that she had asked Sarah Palin to come on her show after the election, but instead Palin talked to other interviewers, including Matt Lauer and Larry King. Oprah sounded a little bitter—how could anyone say no to her?!  Since Oprah may never get her interview, we took the liberty of creating a transcript for the Q&A that probably won’t happen.

Vanity Fair has posted the latest version of its annual New Establishment list. But, hey! Where are all the women? Out of the 100 moguls, entertainers, and businessfolk who made the list as the top 100 “leaders of the information age,” just how many are women? A whopping nine. Who are they, you ask? Oprah Winfrey, Angelina Jolie, Arianna Huffington, Miuccia Prada,  Diane Sawyer, Anna Wintour, Annette de la Renta, Donatella Versace, and Diane Von Furstenberg. So, what have we learned? If you’re a woman who wants to be considered a player in the New Media era by the media, you better be an entertainer, work in fashion, or have really, really great hair.

Yesterday Drew Barrymore appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show to announce that she was donating $1 million dollars of her own money to the United Nations’ World Food Program, which is aiming to feed 10 million more children in Africa by Thanksgiving Day. While she was there, she also dished about her new boyfriend, Justin “I’m A Mac” Long, who was in the audience. She said, “This relationship is great. It’s healthy, it’s productive, and it’s supportive. It’s full of humor and a lot of fun.” He said Drew is more than a pretty face, adding, “She’s the most compassionate person I’ve ever met.” Dang, they’re cute. [Oprah.com and WFP]
