Nylon‘s April cover girl Freida Pinto came out Tuesday night to celebrate the mag’s 13th anniversary in LA in head-to-toe Prada. While the gorgeous Indian actress usually sticks to simple solids on the red carpet, she veered off the beaten path for the event in a colorblocked frock unlike anything we’ve ever seen: the skirt of her dress was embellished with Prada’s flaming car print from the Italian fashion house’s spring/summer collection. The dress on its own doesn’t do it for me, but the addition of the kitschy graphic is the perfect accelerator to take this ensemble from ho-hum to vroom vroom. I personally couldn’t pull off this irreverent look, but Freida does without a hitch. What say you: are you feeling this cheeky design?
Actress Renee Olstead is on “The Secret Life of the American Teenager.” But what she really excels at is playing a Russian hookerette at parties, as evidenced by the outfit she wore to Nylon’s 13th anniversary soiree.
The lovely Christina Ricci seems to have pissed someone off in the Nylon art department because that cover image is a little wonky-eyed. Maybe the photographer told her “Give me an intense gaze!” Who knows. This bizarre cover image definitely doesn’t do justice to the beautiful and normally not-wonky-looking star. “Dating is new to me … I see the whole thing like someone who’s been in a coma and I’ve come out like, ‘Wait, people text message? They text love? How do you text about love??’”
—Oliva Wilde talks to Nylon about swimming the dating shark pool again after her divorce. Oh man, I feel for her. She has so many more confusing moments to confront. It makes me momentarily grateful to be a dating veteran. I may be single, but at least I (kind of) know how the dating machine operates. [Daily Mail UK] Keep reading »
We had no clue who the kid with the terrible haircut was standing next to Emma Roberts (side note: the styling on the cover is … uh … bad), until we scanned around and spotted a familiar surname: Culkin. Yes, he’s a Culkin, but probably not one you’ve seen before. This here is Rory Culkin, the youngest of the Culkins — born in 1989 and a full nine years younger than Macaulay. See him with Roberts (and her glorious teeth) in the new “Scream 4.” [Nylon] Keep reading »
“Ironically, with all this, ‘We’re now more connected than ever with technology,’ I don’t think we’ve ever been farther apart. … I think it’s bulls**t.”
– Actress Drew Barrymore thinks the internet and the fact that you’re reading it is dumb and makes us “weirdly disconnected.” [People] Keep reading »
