I’m not usually a huge Rebecca Taylor fan; she tends to be way too girly for my taste. But as I noted yesterday, I am loving her Spring 2014 collection because she’s toughened up her usual frilly pastels with sportier shapes. And the best thing about this look in particular? It takes a summer staple — the white lacy and/or eyelet dress — and makes it appropriate for fall with just two key pieces: the moto vest and a knit hoodie. Details on how to steal this runway look are after the jump! Keep reading »
Rachel Roy shocked us with one of our favorite shows of NYFW so far. The collection embodies a downtown coolness without being overtly chilly or overly pretentious. In short, we wish we could wear it all, but alas! It’s not in the budget, and instead, we’ll admire from afar. Roy was in good company, too. There were great collections from Alexander Wang, Christian Siriano, Suno and Derek Lam — and you can check ‘em all out after the jump! And don’t forget to tell us who you love, in the comments. There are so many shows, and not enough hours in the day to possibly go to all of them. Good thing, then, that we’ve got your New York Fashion Week coverage down. We’re not even half way through day two, and there’s already been nearly three dozen shows. We’ve whittled it down to a few of our faves from the third and fourth day of shows. I was totally droooooling over Whit’s prints, use of black and white, and the wide range of options, from dresses to wide-leg pants.
After the jump, check out more collections from Zimmermann, Kate Spade, Rebecca Minkoff, Mara Hoffman and Rebecca Taylor… Keep reading »
New York Fashion Week is about half way over, which means we’ve already seen lots of good, lots of bad and LOTS of WTF. Thankfully, the two dresses above helped to restore my faith in what’s been hitting the runway. After seeing far too many dresses that looked like bath robes, there were these…
For starters, I’m a big fan of black and white. It’s a classic color combo and it looks good on prettttty much everyone. But there’s nothing wrong with color, either. The masterminds of Tess Giberson and Honor crafted the stunning ensembles above, combining three of my favorite colors. I. LOVE. THEM.

Gorgeous clothes, tons of festivities, star sightings city-wide — what’s not to love about Fashion Week? Well, the prices, for one thing. We might fall madly in love with a dress right off the runway, but we’d be mad to shell out $3,000 for it, no? That’s why we’ve taken to the Internet in search of our favorite catwalk trends on a waaaaaay more reasonable budget.
Good news! Both stripes and a black and white color palette will still be on trend next spring, if this look from Whit’s S/S 2014 collection is any indication. Chances are you can get this look from pieces you already have in your closet — or you can snag it with one or all of these pieces for under $75 each. Get the deets after the jump! Keep reading »
Oh, New York Fashion Week. I do love all of the out-of-the-box, cutting-edge styles, but I’m fairly confident … wait … yep, I have both of these outfits. They’re hanging on the back of my bathroom door next to my loofah and soap-on-a-rope.
