Quotable: Nicole Richie Regrets “Virgin” Tattoo

“I’m a Virgo and the sign is a virgin. So when I was 16, I got the word virgin tattooed on my wrist, thinking I was sooo deep and cool. And now I just look really weird having virgin written across my wrist and I have to explain it.”

Nicole Richie, a mother of two, is definitely not a virgin. Sadly, I know someone else, who isn’t a Virgo, who also has “virgin” tattooed on her. Do you have a tattoo that you regret? [Starpulse.com] Keep reading »

Wear Your Luck On Your Wrist

While we’re not exactly superstitious, it doesn’t hurt to employ a few extra sources of good luck, right? Though we’re not ready to start carrying around a rabbit foot, we’d totally consider a pretty but powerful charm in the form of jewelry. Nicole Richie’s House of Harlow 1960 Horseshoe Bangle toes the line between over the top and chic without going overboard on the kitschiness. Keep it simple by wearing just the horseshoe or load up on bangles and hope for the best in luck and love.

Worth The Splurge: House Of Harlow Jewelry

Nicole Richie has come a long way since her “Simple Life” days and, aesthetically speaking, nowhere is that more evident than her jewelry line House of Harlow. We remain skeptical about her Winter Kate clothing franchise, but Nicole’s jewelry is consistently an expert blend of vintage and modern, forcing us to lust after pretty much all of it. Sadly, at about $150 for a bracelet and as much as $250 per necklace, the stuff isn’t exactly free. If you’re in the market for an awesome piece of costume jewelry, though, give House of Harlow a look, because we pretty much guarantee you’ll find something to add to your wish list. Keep reading »

Nicole Richie’s Clothing Line Could Result In Fashion Victims

We were skeptical when Nicole Richie launched her jewelry line, House of Harlow 1960, a couple years back. Images of her multi-colored hair, denim miniskirts, and general “Simple Life”-era tackiness flashed before our eyes and, as a result, we were shocked when House of Harlow turned out to be quite cool on the whole. Vintage-inspired pieces in black and gold had us salivating, and we came to see Nicole as a stylish grownup instead of a rebellious teenager. So when we heard that she was coming out with a clothing line, Winter Kate, we readied ourselves for a parade of retro crowd-pleasers as laid back as Nicole herself. Much to our disappointment, however, images of the upcoming collection are out and most of it feels busy and just a bit awkward. Click through for more images and tell us what you think. First Look: Nicole Richie’s Winter Kate Fall 2010

Nicole Richie‘s spring collection for Winter Kate was all about boho-romance, with its vintage-inspired and flowy fabrics. But, having grown up around entertainers, Nicole knows a thing or two about the luxe rocker life, too. For the fall collection, she took her inspiration from the iconic styles of Stevie Nicks and Debbie Harry. There are a few floaty dresses, short and long in length, of course, and printed jackets. There’s also a jumpsuit your daughter is going to beg you to borrow when the jumpsuit craze comes back around again in a decade or two. And even if you’re not flushed enough to purchase Winter Kate, you can certainly hit up a well-stocked thrift store to achieve the look. Check out more photos from the look book here. Keep reading »

Quotable: Your Pilot Today Will Be Nicole Richie

“This past Thursday I flew to Montreal to promote my two lines, Winter Kate and House of Harlow 1960. And by flew, I mean I actually flew. My partners, Rick and Brian, let me be the co-pilot once again on their jet! It was so much fun! Now if only everyone else on the flight felt the same way.”

When Bangs Attack! How To Handle Too-Long Fringe …

Nicole Richie has got herself some seriously long bangs—I have to think those get into her line of vision and bother her eyes, no? I can feel it now, every single blink is labored because your eyelashes have to disentangle themselves from your hair! Bang-wearers, what’s too long? Granted, too-short bangs have their own ugly issues so I suppose to err on the side of long is the way to go, no? I’ll say, though, that for someone with long bangs Nicole is styling them smartly: As a (very) general rule of thumb, when your bangs reach your brows, you’ve got to get control of ‘em. If you’ve got coarse or wavy hair, you need a little pomade to weigh hair down. Fine-haired folk should use a dime-size amount of gel (look for one that’s got some alcohol in it) to shape and tame fly-aways. And once your bangs have reached the bridge of your nose (Nicole, pay attention!), apply a styling lotion and curl the fringe up and back with a round brush. It sounds like an ’80s styling technique, but gravity coupled with the weight of your bangs will help the hair fall into a pretty wave. How do you guys handle too-long bangs? Keep reading »

Quotable: Nicole Richie’s New Haircolor Has Added Points To Her IQ

“I’ve been pregnant and nursing for the past two years, and I really haven’t been able to do a lot with my hair color — I haven’t had time. I was sick of being blonde, so we just decided to dye it brown. I feel smarter already.”
