Nicole Richie and Joel Madden tied the knot this weekend, two kiddos and four years later. The two got hitched at Lionel Richie’s estate, and Nicole wore a strapless Marchesa get-up. While there’s no word on whether any dancing on the ceiling went down during the reception, there is one very curious element to the ceremony—apparently, a trained elephant was led into the proceedings. Which is interesting, because when Katy Perry and Russell Brand got married in October, their procession included two elephants.

Christina Aguilera might have filed for a divorce from Jordan Bratman in October, but I guess she’s not ready to open up about her love life. On Saturday, she went on a double date at the SoHo House in Hollywood with her engaged friends Nicole Richie and Joel Madden. When they left, Christina had her date duck in the back seat and she threw a blanket over him, trying to hide his identity. Fortunately, it was ineffective and we know it was Matthew D. Nicole Richie has come a long way since her “Simple Life” days and, aesthetically speaking, nowhere is that more evident than her jewelry line House of Harlow. We remain skeptical about her Winter Kate clothing franchise, but Nicole’s jewelry is consistently an expert blend of vintage and modern, forcing us to lust after pretty much all of it. Sadly, at about $150 for a bracelet and as much as $250 per necklace, the stuff isn’t exactly free. We were skeptical when Nicole Richie launched her jewelry line, House of Harlow 1960, a couple years back. Images of her multi-colored hair, denim miniskirts, and general “Simple Life”-era tackiness flashed before our eyes and, as a result, we were shocked when House of Harlow turned out to be quite cool on the whole. Vintage-inspired pieces in black and gold had us salivating, and we came to see Nicole as a stylish grownup instead of a rebellious teenager. So when we heard that she was coming out with a clothing line, Winter Kate, we readied ourselves for a parade of retro crowd-pleasers as laid back as Nicole herself. Nicole Richie‘s spring collection for Winter Kate was all about boho-romance, with its vintage-inspired and flowy fabrics. But, having grown up around entertainers, Nicole knows a thing or two about the luxe rocker life, too. For the fall collection, she took her inspiration from the iconic styles of Stevie Nicks and Debbie Harry. There are a few floaty dresses, short and long in length, of course, and printed jackets. There’s also a jumpsuit your daughter is going to beg you to borrow when the jumpsuit craze comes back around again in a decade or two.
