Dogs Are Expert Readers… Of You

Dogs know when we’re paying attention to them—and when we’re looking the other way, a study suggests. Pairs of experimenters carrying treats stood equidistant from a dog and called out to it. We’ll Miss You, Randy ‘Macho Man’ Savage

News that Randy “Macho Man” Savage died in a car accident age 58 has triggered plenty of nostalgic tributes. From David Brown, Yahoo Sports:

In a column for the Daily Beast, Sessums recalls that interview for POZ, a magazine dedicated to AIDS activism. “I loved Jimmy,” she said of her co-star and friend. “I’m going to tell you something, but it’s off the record until I die. OK? When Jimmy was 11 and his mother passed away, he began to be molested by his minister.”

“I think that haunted him the rest of his life. In fact, I know it did,” she continued. “We talked about it a lot. During Giant we’d stay up nights and talk and talk, and that was one of the things he confessed to me.” Read more… Keep reading »

What if it isn’t gossip we’re interested in? What if we really aren’t small- and mean-minded? What if we aren’t scandalmongerers but rather, as we sort through other people’s dirty laundry, erm, truth seekers? Read more Keep reading »
