Target and Neiman Marcus are at absolute opposite ends of the retail spectrum, which is all the more reason for them to want to come together, right? Whatever the logic behind their decision to collaborate, we have no complaints, even less so now that we’ve gotten to see each of the 55 items from the holiday collection. With prices starting at $7.99, you’d be hard-pressed not to find something that you or someone you know needs this coming season (especially considering, hello, holiday shopping is about to become a legitimate concern). The collection doesn’t hit stores (at Target, Neiman Marcus, and both online sources) until December 1, but the items are sure to sell out fast, so it’s best to go into it knowing exactly what you want. Check out my 12 designer picks from the offerings, and let us know what you’ll be waiting in (or on) line for come December! [Glamour]
Way back in the day, my grandma had a crocheted afghan in her living room that looked exactly like these pants. I used to wrap myself up in it on her cozy couch to watch Nickelodeon while she plied me for family gossip with treats from the candy drawer. I had no idea that one day someone would take that blanket, sew it in the vague shape of pants, and sell it for 300 bucks at Neiman Marcus. [$297, Neiman Marcus]
A Dallas-area man allegedly thought he could have his cake and eat it, too — by purchasing more than a million dollars worth of gifts from Neiman Marcus for his wife and letting his mistress (who worked as a personal shopper at the department store) get the commission on the sale. Now Robert Tennison’s wife Patricia Walker is suing the department store, claiming fraud. Keep reading »
Is it that time of year again already? It feels like just yesterday we were compiling our holiday wishlists from the greatest of all gift catalogs, the Neiman Marcus Christmas Book. This year’s edition is out and it’s chock full of gifts that will have you arranging your grandma’s death to get your inheritance early. (Seriously, don’t do that.) The thing about the Neiman Marcus Christmas Book is that I … don’t want anything on it. Seriously. Love you, Grandma! Nevertheless, here are the most outrageous — and outrageously priced — gifts on the list this year that you might like. [Fashionista]

Neiman Marcus has entered the off-price retail game with the launch of Last Call Studio, a new retail concept store, and LastCall.com. Both entities feature designer fashions and shoes at a large discount from the suggested retail price. But don’t be mistaken, the Last Call items aren’t last year’s cast-offs. The fashions are actually on-trend and in-season and have been selected specifically for Last Call. I had the opportunity to shop at the new Last Call Studio in Paramus, NJ, and was shocked at the huge selection and amazing deals. I scored a pair of Charles Jourdan shoes for almost $88 less than the original price! There were also clothes and shoes from Diane Von Furstenberg, 7 For All Mankind, Rachel Roy, and Sam Edelman. But if you’re like me and don’t live near one of the Last Call Studio stores in Paramus, Dallas, or Rockville, MD, don’t feel slighted because the Last Call website has nearly identical merchandise to the stores. Will you shop at LastCall.com or Last Call Studio? [LastCall.com] Keep reading »
