My boyfriend Nick and I have lived in Tennessee for almost two months now. With TV getting raunchier and more graphic every year, are you satisfied with the sex on your screen? The New York Times says that the sex on TV isn’t sexy anymore. We disagree. The Joylessness of Sex on TV discusses shows like “Homeland,” “The Americans,” and “House of Cards,” where sex is used as a ploy for personal gain instead of pleasure. It’s a valid point, but it doesn’t cover that broad of a spectrum. There are plenty of other shows out there doing sex in innovative and, well, sexy ways. Up until last month, my boyfriend Nick and I had lived in Oregon all of our lives. We both grew up in small towns outside of Portland, and then, after high school, we migrated into the city like people from small towns tend to do. For the past few years, Nick worked at the cheese counter of an upscale Portland grocery store. Like most things in our lives, his job was fine, but it wasn’t spectacular. We felt stagnant in many ways, like we were passively living a life that had been set out for us, rather than choosing the life we wanted. Looking back, we lived in Portland not because we wanted to, but because we always had.
A weekend trip to Nashville changed everything. Within hours of landing in the city, we knew we wanted to move there. After feeling anchored in place for so long, the prospect of picking up and moving made us feel practically weightless, not to mention giddy with excitement. We couldn’t wait to start a new life. Random Style Inspiration: The Grand Ole Opry
This past weekend Nick and I went to The Grand Ole Opry and it. was. awesome. The auditorium itself was beautiful, and I was blown away by performances by Rhonda Vincent (seriously, watch her bluegrass version of “Jolene” and try not to fall in love with her!), The Striking Matches, and a bunch of classic country crooners paying tribute to the late George Jones. But my favorite thing about it? The fashion, of course! From the 80-year-old guys wearing sequined blazers to the preponderance of cowboy hats and bolo ties in the audience, it was country-fried glamour at its best. “When I was younger, I was upset, and my dad said he wanted to show me something. He slammed one door of the bathroom, and the closet door popped open—it was a trick with the air. He said, ‘Whenever one door closes, another one always opens.’ So my tattoo means ‘Live without regrets.’ It’s not that you don’t regret things in life, but you at least try to learn from them. It’s misspelled too—so I literally have to live by that advice!”

How To Move Across The Country Without Having A Nervous Breakdown
So, huge news: my boyfriend Nick and I are moving from Portland to Nashville, Tennessee! Remember when we visited last year and were totally smitten with the city? Well, our lease is up at the end of this month, and we’ve decided it’s the right time to give southern living a try. Neither of us has ever done a major move like this. We are incredibly excited. We are totally terrified. Connie Britton Doesn’t Want To Talk About Aging

–”Nashville” star Connie Britton reveals her hesitations to discuss the aging process in a fascinating New York Times magazine profile that includes a number of major bombshells (example: she was set to play Dorothy in “Jerry Maguire” until Renee Zellweger nabbed the role at the last minute), and some classic Connie-isms (“My life started being awesome five years ago”). Apparently Britton has been extremely cautious about the way her “Nashville” character deals with aging, and has purposefully skipped lines and altered scenes that focused too much on the “aging country star” angle.
