Naomi Campbell To Testify In War Trial

Naomi Campbell, no stranger to courtroom appearances, will be testifying in a trial for someone other than her rage-y self, it seems. Former Liberian President Christopher Taylor is on trial for 11 counts of war crimes and crimes against humanity and Campbell is being called to testify at the trial. According to actress Mia Farrow, Campbell herself said that Taylor gave her an uncut diamond at a party at Nelson Mandela’s house in 1997. Given that one of the charges against Taylor is that he armed rebels in return for diamonds mined by children, The Trial Chamber thought it reasonable to call on Campbell to testify. So Apparently Naomi Campbell Didn’t Really Assault Her Driver

Weird. I guess when you peg a few assistants with cell phones and are arrested for assaulting officers at an airport, people are quick to believe your limo driver when he says you hit him. But apparently, that’s not what happened with Naomi Campbell on Tuesday. Driver Miodrag Mejdina has recanted his story that Campbell smacked him so hard in the back of the head that his face hit the steering wheel, which is what he’d told police. They’d been looking for Campbell for questioning. “This whole thing has been blown out of proportion and I apologize to Ms. Campbell for causing that to happen,” the driver said. “[I] got angry and overreacted.”

Naomi was pleased to hear this public statement. “I was accused of unacceptable behavior towards a driver in New York,” she said. “I have worked very hard on correcting my previous wrongdoings and I will not be held hostage to my past. I try to treat everyone with respect and I am pleased the driver has apologized. I would like to put the last few days behind me and move on.” Now, maybe she can go a year without a similar incident? Naomi Campbell Attacks Again … A Driver This Time!

Ah dang, Naomi Campbell! Just when I thought she had learned her lesson after picking up trash in NYC, she goes and attacks another person. The NYPD is currently on the hunt for Naomi after she allegedly punched and slapped her driver, while sitting in the back seat of the car while he was driving. The driver says he then stopped the car in midtown Manhattan and called 911 on her ass, which caused Naomi to jump out of the car and run away. [DailyRecord.com]

So I could go out on limb for my girl and suggest that she was overcome with grief for Alexander McQueen and stressed about the plight of surviving Haitians and just lost it, but we all know that would be true for any excuse. But really, if I were nine inches taller (I don’t enjoy being around excessively tall women) and worked for Naomi, I’d anticipate a BlackBerry flying at my head or a slap across the face at all times, so I’d never turn my back on her. I’d be ready to duck at any moment. In fact, I’d squat whenever she entered a room. And I’d have it in my contract that she had to double my pay for the day if she tried to inflict pain on me.
