The new season of TLC’s “My Strange Addiction” is about to start, and while we’ve already been tipped off that this round will feature a woman who is addicted to eating cat food, we can’t imagine what other weird people with odd habits the show’s dug up. Remember Amelia’s boyfriend, hair drain guy? Or the woman whose frighteningly long nails made it nearly impossible for her to wipe her own butt?
To make your own viewing of “My Strange Addiction” more enjoyable, we’ve created this handy bingo card, with 16 possible addiction topics we think the show might feature. How to play: Print this card out. Every time we manage to hit the weird mark on the head, cross an addiction off the card. If we (or you) get the addictions in a horizontal, vertical or diagonal row, you win! (What, we’re not sure, because you’ve just watched, like, 10 episodes of “My Strange Addiction,” which sounds really depressing.)
Enjoy! (New episodes air February 12).
First off, how was your Thanksgiving? Mine was pretty great. Over the holiday weekend, I spent some quality time catching up on episodes of my fave TV shows that I managed to miss, including “My Strange Addiction.” And that’s how I came to know you and decided that you would make a great boyfriend for me. You’re addicted to pulling hair out of shower drains. I have a lot of hair in my shower drain that needs to be pulled out. See? We already have so much in common. Keep reading »
My strange addiction is that I’m addicted to “My Strange Addiction.” Each week I promise myself it will be my last time writing about it. And then I see a new episode and the cycle starts all over again. The surge of adrenaline, the utter disbelief, the running to my laptop to blog about it. I’m sorry, readers. I promise this will be my last time — at least for a while since the season is over. The pillow addict was a tough act to follow, but TLC has topped itself this week with Cassie, the 26-year-old widow who is addicted to eating … her late husband’s ashes. Keep reading »
This week on “My Strange Addiction,” we met 33-year-old Tamara and her pillow Boo. This pair has history. They’ve been together since 1982, when she found him at an antique shop, but their connection deepened when she leaned on Boo (literally) as a coping mechanism after being molested. Even though Boo has never been washed, Tamara insists he’s not stinky. But she doesn’t really care what anyone thinks of Boo. Not the president … or her boyfriend. Uh, she has a boyfriend? And I’m single? I’m sorry, let me not make light of her problem. Please note: this is an example of the importance of receiving therapy after a trauma. [Jezebel] Keep reading »
We’ve seen a couch eater, a toilet paper muncher, a kitchen cleanser licker, and a scab sucker so far on this season of “My Strange Addiction.” But TLC is going bigger and better next season. Tobias Funke from “Arrested Development” can’t be the only person in the world who refuses to get completely nude, right? “My Strange Addiction” has put out a casting call on Craig’s List to find a Never Nude who wants to tell their story. On tonight’s all-new episode of TLC’s “My Strange Addiction,”
we meet Josh, who is addicted to eating glass. He has a particular affinity for champagne and wine glasses — classy! In all seriousness, this is one of the more dangerous addictions featured on this show and I certainly hope Josh gets some help. Eating glass cannot possibly feel good — both going in and coming out.
