It was a tall order for indie pop singer Sky Ferreira to outdo her super chic mugshot, but she’s certainly done it. The singer shared a SFW version of the artwork from the cover of her debut album, Night Time, My Time (coming out October 29th) on Instagram. It’s got a very Janet Leigh in “Psycho” vibe. Of course, someone found the unedited version of the photo taken by filmmaker Gaspar Noe, because BOOBS!
As for her arrest, she made a statement to Billboard saying:
“I legally can’t say much about what happened, but it’s not what it all seems. I kind of got fucked with. … No one actually knows what happened besides Cole and I and the Saugerties police…I know for a fact I’m not a drug addict. That’s all I really have to say about it. I know I’m not a drug addict. I’m sorry if it hurt anyone and I’m not trying to promote drugs and it’s not like an image thing whatsoever.”
Well, that settles that. You can see the NSFW version of the photo after the jump. [Spin] Keep reading »
Miley Cyrus has proven herself to be kind of the worst lately, but that doesn’t mean the girl can’t sing. The divisive star stopped by “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” last night to promote her new album, Bangerz, and we’ll give it to her: she put on a pretty ace show. The 20-year-old channelled the opening sequence of “The Brady Bunch” via an a cappella version of “We Can’t Stop,” with a little help from Fallon and house band The Roots. (I maintain that the real star of this video is Questlove, who at turns looks both amused and appalled by some of Miley’s more questionable lyrics.) That said, there was very little Cyrus-tongue in sight, which should hopefully keep the singer in The Stroke Association’s good graces for just a liiiiiittle while longer. [Hypetrak]
Huge news on the Justin Bieber front, guys! After 19 years spent nestled snugly inside his body, the young Canadian gentleman’s balls have FINALLY DROPPED. And how do I know this? Because Justin released “Heartbreaker” — which is, can you imagine, “a song for people going through heartbreak” — yesterday as part of his #MusicMondays, where he debuts a new song every Monday for 10 weeks, and he just sounds … different. Manlier. Bieber has also adopted a sort of slurred, inarticulate drawl, which really comes through at about the 2:39 mark in this audio. There’s no video yet, so I’m anxiously awaiting the next footage of Justin attempting to win back Selena Gomez through song. [Lainey Gossip]
You guys, the long-awaited Chavril LaKroeger duet has finally dropped! I’ve already listened to it four times and I LOVE IT. “Let Me Go” was recorded for Avril’s upcoming album, which Chad worked on, sparking their fabled romance. Listening to this song is like watching the third season of “Newlyweds” and seeing Nick and Jessica’s relationship unravel in real time, but the opposite of that. With every note of this song, you can hear Chavril falling deeper and deeper in love. I’m crying right now. I need to go compose myself. Just push play. [YouTube]
In my dreams, Miley and Sinead decide to be grown ass women who, at the end of the day, respect each other’s work, go out for a beer and have a cool, smart, healthy debate about sexual expression/exploitation in the music biz. Then they head to the studio and record a song together and it is awesome. I am losing hope of this actually happening in real life, so Robin Skouteris‘s excellent mashup of Sinead’s “Nothing Compares 2 U” and Miley’s “Wrecking Ball” will have to do. [via Jezebel]
