Lindsay Lohan, The Persecuted Graffiti Artist?

Lindsay Lohan‘s first staring role since her release from house arrest is in the music video for Miggs’ new song, “Let the Games Begin.” In the video, Lindsay plays a model/actress by day. But by night, she is a “world famous street artist known for his social commentary,” even though authorities have vowed to arrest “him.” This is obviously an allegory for Lindsay’s life. Frontman Don Miggs expalins, “She hasn’t beaten her kids or cheated on her husband. She isn’t Tiger Woods or Mel Gibson. She hasn’t done things that have hurt other people.” Keep reading »

Lady Gaga’s Video For “Yoü and I” Is Intentionally As Confusing As Love

Yesterday, Lady Gaga‘s video for “Yoü and I” was supposed to premiere on MTV at exactly 7:49p.m. However, after it leaked earlier in the week, Gaga jumped the gun on unveiling the video, which features her as mermaid Yuyi and as dude Jo Calderone, as well as rocking her mother’s actual wedding dress. To make it up to MTV, Gaga still sat down with Sway at the anointed time to talk about the video. Because the song has that umlaut in the name, I had wondered if it was a reference to Lüc Carl. And that sure appears to be the case, though perhaps they are broken up after all? “I wrote the song about this guy that I used to date … Sometimes in love, you can’t make it work,” said Gaga. “No matter what you do, there’s this giant boundary between you and someone else. So that’s what it’s about, perceiving in your imagination that there’s something magical inside of you that you can make it work.” Whoa. That’s kinda very true. Keep reading »

Cee Lo Green’s “Cry Baby”: Steve Urkel Gets Dapper

Cee Lo Green is such a genius. I am absolutely obsessed with his new video for “Cry Baby,” from the ’50s styling to the amazing guest stars—Jaleel White, aka Steve Urkel, and a girl who looks suspiciously like Laura Winslow. Wow, Jaleel has some pretty hot dance moves and looks kind of sexy in a pair of white plaid pants with Converse. Side note: I really want to know who Cee Lo is singing to here. I have a feeling it’s the same person he was addressing in “F**k You.” She really inspired some great breakup songs. Keep reading »

Kris Jenner’s Awesomely Bad Music Video

If you thought Rebecca Black’s “Friday” was awesomely terrible and that LuAnn De Lesseps’ “Chic, C’est La Vie,” was infuriatingly amazing you must, must, must see this music video that Kris Jenner—mama of Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney Kardashian—made for her 30th birthday. It’s called “I Love My Friends,” and it’s a poorly sung love poem to the people in her life. “We’re big on carpools/ Judith Lieber/ Bible study/ Cheesecake Factory,” she sings. “Baby showers/ Birthday parties/ Valentino’s/ Church on Sunday/ Everybody’s very happy!” Oh, and yes—the girls make an appearance at the end. They even wrote the lyrics to the song, according to the credits. And look out for cameos from Michael Jackson, Kris’ first husband, Robert Kardashian, and his most famous client OJ Simpson. What’s Happening Here? “Pon Pon Pon” Edition

Since I don’t speak a lick of Japanese, I’m forced to visually interpret what this weird video from Japanese artist Kyary Pamyu Pamyu is all about. My take: “I love cute stuff, so much cute stuff, also dripping eyeballs. Maybe I murder you? Eyeballs vomit from my mouth! It’s my evil! A dancing adult baby clenches my spirit. It is always in the shadows. Let’s dance!” What’s your take? [YouTube] Keep reading »

Björk Is Back, And Ready To Attack

Raise your hand if you are excited for Björk‘s new album, Biophilia, which will drop in late September. Luckily, she has cut the suspense, releasing her first video from the album, “Crystalline,” this morning. Not only is the song thorougly embedded in my head now, the video is also dope. Not that I should be surprised—it’s directed by the amazing Michel Gondry. Enjoy. [Village Voice] Keep reading »
