TGIF! This Used, Jizz-Filled Condom Has Been Tied To A Subway Pole Since At Least Tuesday!

In case you needed further proof that people behave like savage, filthy animals on public transportation, I bring you this photo of a used condom tied to an F train subway pole, spotted by a commuter and posted by Gothamist. A flurry of responses and tips later, the blog reports that the condom has been tied to the pole since at least Tuesday, with at least one tipster sending in another photo of what she thinks is the exact same condom, only she saw it way back in September. SEPTEMBERRRRR. I can’t. Either this is the work of a spunky, heh, serial prankster or the MTA really needs to improve its cleanup game. Regardless, I’m taking the 6 train to work from now on. This Is Why Everyone Is Working From Home In NYC Today

This is an image taken directly from the New York City MTA of what one of the downtown subway stations looks like post-Hurricane Sandy. That’s an entire subway tunnel full of water — and salt water at that — which rusts out subway trains and tracks, leaving them non-functioning. Whoa boy.

NYC Abandons Plans To Stop Public Transit Pervs

While any woman who has ever ridden public transportation most likely has a story about some jerk who copped a feel or a shifty-eyed loser who made her switch cars, almost none of us come forward to complain about the creep. So back in March, Boston launched a campaign to bust pervs on public transportation. Working with the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center, they posted subway ads encouraging woman to tell the authorities when they experience unwanted sexual advances on public transit and even policewomen went under cover to catch the cretins. Thanks to their efforts, Bostonians have begun to take action too and there has been a spike in reported cases. Mission accomplished! New York was supposed to following in their footsteps to curb a similar sexual harassment problem in the city, but before the ads were even posted, they were pulled. Keep reading »
