If you thought you were safe from Movember mustaches, think again. This is Jonathan Burnside of Orlando, Florida. And depending on how you look at it, this is either his awesome mustache or poor life choice:  Keep reading »

Nothing Says Movember Like Naked Burt Reynolds Sprawled Out On A Chocolate Eclair

In honor of Movember, that great month where men grow their lip sweaters for charity, pastry chef, Miss Insomnia Tulip of Lou Lou P’s Delights, has transformed Burt Reynolds into a cream-filled pastry. The bizarre eclair features a recreation of Reynolds’ famous 1972 Cosmo spread where he posed naked on a bearskin rug. I’m assuming that his mustache and excessive amounts of body hair are made of fondant, but still, this dessert only slightly more appetizing than those STD cupcakes[Photo: Splash News]

Movember Time!

I could look at the mustachioed visage of Nick Offerman — Ron Swanson of “Parks and Recreation”– for days. His ‘stache is perfectly groomed and majestic, reminiscent of the glory of a flock of birds cresting over the horizon or a beautiful sunrise on a pristine white beach. Here, he reassures men participating in Movember — the mustache-growing men’s health awareness movement — that their puny, sad sack teenage dirt ‘staches will grow thicker and fuller. Just ask his video co-stars, “The Office”‘s Brian Baumgartner, Oscar Nuñez and Jake Lacy. You just have to give it time, says Nick, who reminds us that growing a mustache isn’t easy, but “nothing incredibly awesome is.” [Movember]

The Greatest Moments Of The American Mustache

Throughout America’s history, the mustache has grown on the lips of many famous and influential Americans. In honor of Movember, click on for the mustache’s impact on America over the years.

20 Mustachioed Men We’d Like To Do

The lip sweater, the flavor saver, the mouth brow, the pushbroom. Call the mustache what you will, we don’t really care as long as it’s attached to the upper lip of a hot dude we want to get it on with. In honor of Movember, the month in which dudes grow out their lip fuzz to raise money for cancer research, we’d like to celebrate some of our favorite mustached men. Like we really needed an excuse to celebrate. After the jump, some ‘stached dudes we wouldn’t kick out of bed.

Mustache Fetishists, Get Ready, It’s Movember Time!

Mustaches, mustaches everywhere!

Ladies, do you love a mustache? (I don’t — keep your disgusting facial hair away from me). If you do, though, you’ll be happy to know that tomorrow is the start of Movember, a month-long mustache-growing festival to raise awareness about prostate and testicular cancer. Mo Bros, as they’re called, proudly display their repulsive facial hair, hold mustache-growing contests and raise money to support men’s health causes. [YouTube]

The Men Of Movember

While October is devoted to raising awareness for breast cancer, November is all about the gentlemen. During the month of November, or “Movember,” as the Movember Foundation likes to call it, men around the world will grow the kind of facial hair many of us see as gross, cheesy, and porn star-esque for a good cause. (“Mo” is slang for mustache in Australia, where Movember started, originally with the sole goal of bringing back the mustache.) Their aim is to raise awareness about prostate cancer and other cancers that specifically affect men. We’ve assembled a wide array of some of our favorite celeb ‘staches for your mouth-tickling enjoyment. Click through for the very best.

Movember Mustache Gallery: Your Vote Helps Raise Money For Cancer Research

Today is the final day in Movember (the month formerly known as November), which to many of us is no big deal.

To many men, this marks the end of a month-long facial hair grow-out in an effort to raise money for prostate cancer awareness.

On December 1st, all of these handsome devils are allowed to shave their mustaches off, so we rounded up some dudes with righteous lip sweaters from all over the country to tell us about life with facial hair. Some may not shave after all.

We want YOU the reader to vote for your favorite “Mo.” Dumb as a Blog will donate $200 to cancer research in the winner’s name. Read more (and vote!)… Keep reading »

Movember Facial Hair: Love It Or Leave It?

Have you guys heard of Movember? In 2003 in Melbourne, Australia, a few friends decided to grow out their facial hair for the month of November to draw attention to men’s health issues. Their humble, hairy plan: that their mustaches could “change the face of men’s health” and maybe they could raise a few bucks along the way. Today, hundreds of thousands of men around the world participate by vowing to put down their razors for the entire month and round up donations from friends. Last year, all those mustaches, goatees, and neckbeards were able to raise $42 million to fund prostate cancer research. Not bad, huh?

With all these extra beards and mustaches cropping up, I’m curious: How do you feel about facial hair? Do you prefer your man clean-shaven, fully bearded, or somewhere in between? And if you’re not usually a fan of beards, would you make an exception for charity facial hair? And after the jump, check out what the ladies of Asylum think of Movember. Keep reading »
