We knew there must have been a good reason why Mo’Nique didn’t pay the $370,000 in back rent that her Georgia landlord is suing her for. The actress says she had good reason: the place smelled like dog s**t, wet dog, and urine (not necessarily from a dog). It sounds like a regular zoo. Also, she claims the septic tank regularly overflowed (that would explain the feces and urine smells), there was a mold problem, and the security gate was busted. She is mad about the foul odors to counter-sue. I can’t blame her. Wet dog is like the worst smell in the whole world. It’s an automatic get out of rent free card if you ask me. [TMZ]

Lately, Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher have been ultra affectionate in public, trying to show the world that their marriage is not in danger amid rumors that Ashton cheated on Demi with a 21-year-old named Brittney Jones. But in a new interview, Brittney claims that Ashton wasn’t actually cheating when he allegedly had sex with her on a couch while Demi was out of town. “Ashton said he and Demi have an open relationship and have threesomes often,” Brittney explained. “I didn’t feel at all like he had just cheated on his wife. It felt normal and OK.” Then she contradicted herself and said, “[Ashton] said they share women, but he isn’t supposed to go off and sleep with women on his own. He said Demi had to be there and that Demi likes to pick the girls out.” [Huffington Post]

The source here is about as reliable as a used car salesman with the words “I lie” tattooed across his forehead. But is it possible that Demi and Ashton have an open relationship? Few actresses could have portrayed a mom who abuses her daughter physically, verbally, and sexually with the nuance that Mo’Nique showed in “Precious.” Soon after making the movie, she explained what inspired her Oscar-winning performance—she was molested when she was a child by her older brother. Ever since, her brother, Gerald Imes, has denied her claims—even after serving 12 years in prison for molesting another unidentified girl. But yesterday, he sat down on Oprah‘s couch to not only fess up, but to apologize to Mo’Nique. “I’m here today to first acknowledge that I’ve been in denial for 37 years,” he said. “I did assault and inappropriately touch my sister in manners that were uncomfortable for her. After her big Oscar win last night for Best Supporting Actress in “Precious,” Mo’Nique made her way backstage where she answered questions and joked around with reporters. When asked what would happen if more actresses stopped shaving their legs like her, Mo’Nique quipped: “They would win Oscars!” Oh, if only it were that easy, I think we’d be seeing lots more hair on the red carpet. Hairy legs or not, Mo’Nique looked beautiful in her royal blue silk jersey Tadashi Shoji gown, a color she chose because it was the color Hattie McDaniel, the first black actress to win an Academy Award (for “Gone With the Wind”), wore to accept her Oscar in the ’40s.
