War Machine, or Jonathon Koppenhaver — the MMA fighter who beat his ex-girlfriend/model/porn star Christy Mack within inches of her life in August this year — tried to commit suicide by hanging in his jail cell last week. TMZ obtained a copy of the suicide note he left, and MMANews transcribed it (h/t Gawker for the links).
In the note, Koppenhaver claims that “society has killed men.” Robyn Pennacchia at Death and Taxes points out that what constitutes “men,” to Koppenhaver, is rapists: He claimed on Twitter that he raped Mack, and that “Real men rape.” The feminist bitch inside me is itching to say this, so I’ll just give it air: Men’s Rights Activists or Red Pill-ers, I would never claim that “real” men rape, or that all men are rapists, or that any sexual act with a man is by default rape, or that all men want to rape, or that all men should rape. No, that’s one of your own making that claim. If you want to hate feminists because you perceive us as stereotyping men as rapists, go ahead and hate yourselves, too. Keep reading »
At the beginning of March, mixed martial arts fighter Fallon Fox came out as transgender. The 36-year-old had been participating as a female competitor in MMA competitions for six years, and was forced to address the fact that she was born male after a reporter discovered her secret. On January 26, FOX is set to air an Ultimate Fighting Championship fight with MMA fighter Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, who last April posted a video on the YouTube channel for FilmOn in which he jokingly attempted to rape a woman. He in the video, he advises viewers to use choloroform to “help her relax” and suggests purchasing zip ties. Also in the video, Jackson says he hopes the woman he attempts to rape “got low self-esteem.” A clip from the video shows Jackson dressed in all black, sneaking up behind a woman with her back turned while she’s opening her car door. Worst of all, this video is entitled “How To Pick Up A Gurl … Fast.”
Let me remind you again: FOX and UFC want to put this guy on TV.

Some girls sleep with teddy bears. Some girls like to watch mixed martial arts fighting. I would be the latter. What’s MMA? A full contact sport that’s a mix of boxing, wrestling, and martial arts. It’s bloody, it’s hardcore, and it’s one of the most popular sports in the country. You may have seen guys duking it out in cage fights, but did you know that women are getting into the MMA mix, too? Now, Gina Carano, a 27-year-old Texan and daughter of a former Dallas Cowboys quarterback, is fast becoming the first lady of the sport. Taking other chicks out with a rear naked choke, big punches, and high kicks, Carano is the girl next door that you do not want to mess with. On August 15, she’ll fight the biggest match of her career, when she takes on Cristiane Santos in “Carano vs. Cyborg.” “If you’re gonna have an addiction,” she says, “it might as well be punching people in the face for a living.” Keep reading »
