Sometimes you’re like, “Oh dang, I’m so over wearing cotton and silk and such. Why can’t someone just up the ante a bit?” And then designer Charlie Le Mindu goes and makes a ton of garments out of frickin’ Minx fake nails. Like, thousands of them! Oh hello! We like! We like so much! (Though we can’t imagine you’d ever be able to sit down and get a manicure — heh heh — in a dress like this.) Lee Press-Ons, eat your heart out. [MTV Style]
This style maven wore custom Minx Nails in a money design at the 2010 Grammy Awards. And she even stepped up her Minx game by adding rhinestones to her nails. Find out the answer after the jump. [LA, 2/2/10] Keep reading »
Minx Nails became a favorite among celebrities and fashionistas for its bold patterns and metallic colors. But now, they’re offering a new line of nail coverings that are great for everyday wear. The Teaser line still has the playful metallic undertones Minx is known for, but also an iridescence that is more subtle. “The color just keeps teasing you depending on the angle, the light, and what you are wearing, and everyone knows we Minxes love a good tease,” said co-founder Janice Jordan in a press release. I had the pleasure of getting a Minx manicure at Fifi International Spa in NYC and chose the Tease Me Black and Red nail coverings. The color did change between red and black, and sometimes it even looked copper. Check out The Frisky’s original video above on how to get Minxed. Keep reading »
Everyone has been talking about Minx Nails lately. The nail art was featured in a recent issue of Vogue and on “Today” this morning, but I have to say these “news” outlets are a little behind. The Frisky gave you the dish on Minx back in October, and even interviewed manicurist, Lisa Logan, who was responsible for Beyonce and Solange’s Obama nails that were popular during the presidential campaign.
Last week, I had the pleasure of getting my nails dipped in gold. OK, not really, but I got close. I had Minx Nails applied in gold on eight fingers and gold cheetah on two fingers. It was kind of weird to have a “dry manicure.” I had trouble remembering that my nails weren’t wet, even though I just had them done. I kept the Minx Nails on for a few days and found myself admiring them quite often. However, I don’t think they’ll replace my normal manicure — they’re more for special occasions. The pedicures, however, I could get behind. A Minx pedicure supposedly lasts three times as long as the manicure. Keep reading »
Conventional nail polish and nail art are things of the past now that Minx Nails have arrived. Minx Nails are the latest celebrity trend and have been spotted on the hands of Beyonce, Solange, Eve, Rihanna and Mariah Carey. “It’s the boom heard around the world,” said Minx Master Lisa Logan, who is Beyonce and Solange’s nail technician. Since Minx is a flexible film, not a polish, you can have virtually any design. I’m talking alligator skin, paisley, fishnet, pretty much anything creator Janice Jordan can think of. You can even show your partisanship by putting a Democrat donkey or a Republican elephant on your nail. Beyonce, Solange and Eve have been spotted with photos of Senator Barack Obama on their nails. And coming soon, you will be able to order customized nails from Minx. That means you can have nails that perfectly match those new python Jimmy Choos or even put a photo of your favorite furry friend. After the jump learn more about Minx Nails. Keep reading »
