Star Couplings: Kirsten Dunst Tries To Taint Ryan Gosling

  • Sob! It seems like only five minutes ago that I was on the phone with my Dad, talking about the movie Fracture and I was saying how cool (i.e. hot) Ryan Gosling was and then BAM! Now I find out he’s schtooping Kirsten “The Snaggler” Dunst. [Perez Hilton]

Disney Shows Get Girls Interested In Bad Boys Awfully Early

Last night I went to dinner with a friend and her adorable four-and-a-half year old daughter Eva. I was pleasantly mortified to discover that Eva and I shared the same taste in music — we’re both really into Miley Cyrus aka Hannah Montana. I swear, as I get older, my taste in music gets more juvenile. Anyway, Eva and I dished for a while about Miley, That’s So Raven, and Zach and Cody (two other shows on the Disney Channel), before her mom and I started discussing the weird values these shows start ingraining in the little ones before they’re even old enough to read. For example, Zach and Cody are twin brothers — one of them is the smart, nerdy, “good” one, while the other is wild, naughty, and a bit of a bad boy — naturally, many, many little girls are known to like the bad boy best. Isn’t it weird how pop culture tries to get you to choose between them before you’re even in puberty? Keep reading »

    Hot Or Not? Gladiator Sandals

It seems like every young female celeb — from Miley Cyrus and Ashley Tisdale, to Nicole Ritchie and Jessica Alba — has been spotted in gladiator sandals. But like another footwear trend that started in Hollywood and spread across the country like the plague (Uggs), we’re not sure we want these shoes to leave California. Yet gladiators are hitting stores from Gap to Urban Outfitters. While they make a statement, why do we need that kind of ankle support if we’re not fighting for our lives in a colosseum? Star Mag’s Earth-Shattering Exclusive: Celebrity Crow’s Feet & Blackheads!

Who doesn’t love a good celebrity gossip rag mag? Sure, they’re our dirty little secret [Not so dirty, as my purse stuffed with Us Weekly and Life & Style can attest. — Editor], equal to someone opening the top drawer of our nightstand. But like any gluttonous pleasure, sometimes they go too far — like this week’s Star magazine, which features “celebs without makeup”. Ooooh, booga-booga! Worse yet, one of their cover girls is 15-year-old celebuspawn and Hannah Montana star, Miley Cyrus. She’s a child star — frankly she should be makeup-free! And if you’re reading this, then I know you have at least a t-shirt older than her baby face. Plus the other girls they feature front and center, like Christina Aguilera, Jessica Simpson and Katie Holmes, are all 30 and under — oh the horror of seeing their actual pores, smile lines, and, ACK, zits! Star Magazine, forget about wrinkles, your “reporting” is starting to show cracks. [Star] Keep reading »

    Puritan Pop Stars

Over a decade after Britney claimed she was saving herself for marriage, the Jonas Brothers, a popular teeny-bopper boy band, have decided to take a vow of celibacy too. The trio of short, dark, and handsome teens told Details Magazine that they even bought rings to commemorate their commitment to chastity from Disney World and Tiffany’s. (How punk rock!) Although it’s not actually working as kryptonite for their hordes of screaming girl groupies, the Christian rockers turned pop stars, who are now owned by Disney, want to stay shining examples of purity. Their tour director, Rob Brenner, who had worked with Spears, sees abstinence as a way to keep the boys focused and grounded, while avoiding the pitfalls (i.e. drugs, pregnancy, general craziness) of other stars who make it big when they’re young.
