“I don’t think I ever fully realized what a human body is capable of doing. But I think I was also, in a beautiful way, incredibly naive. I believed that I could do anything. I never for one moment thought that I couldn’t do it. I believe in hard work. In self-drive and self-worth. I’m a huge foodie, I love food. But when people say, ‘I can’t lose weight’, no no no, you can. Your body can do everything and anything, you just have to want to do it.”
–Mila Kunis, on how she lost weight for “Black Swan.” Kunis also previously said that she was freaked out by the intense weight loss she experienced while training for “Swan.” In November 2010, she said, “It was the most intense training I’ve ever had in my life, and probably will have for anything. I lost 20 pounds, so I went down to 95 pounds. I weigh 117 usually, like today. I looked like Gollum.” She further went on to criticize Hollywood for perpetuating such unrealistic images of beauty. “I could see why this industry is so f*cked up, because … I would literally look at myself in the mirror and I was like, ‘Oh my God!’ I had no shape, no boobs, no ass … all you saw was the bone. I was like, ‘This looks gross.’ Man, it took me five months to lose 20 pounds, but it took me just five days — days! — to gain it all back.” So Kunis no doubt understands that taking off weight, and looking and being healthy are NOT the same thing. The lovely Mila Kunis
lived in Ukraine until she was seven years olds and, as a result, speaks fluent Russian. So, at a recent press event in Moscow for her new movie “Friends With Benefits,” Kunis happily took questions in her native tongue. But she was not thrilled when one reporter asked co-star Justin Timberlake why he bothered choosing movies over music. In the clip above, Kunis snaps back at the reporter, “Why movies? Why not? What kind of question is that? Why are you here?” The crowd erupts in cheers and Timberlake is bewildered. Keep reading »
A restricted clip/trailer for “Friends With Benefits”
(above, opening July 22) has me curious about something — have you ever f**ked and chewed gum at the same time? Excuse my French — Justin Timberlake
and Mila Kunis
drop the f-bomb a lot in the trailer above, so I’m just getting into the spirit. Anyway, they also are seen doin’ the nasty while both smacking on gum. I can only imagine that this is going to be some sort of minor plot point in the film, as I don’t know of anyone that actually thinks it’s a good idea to chew gum and hump at the same time. Am I crazy? Keep reading »
In the last week, I have learned two pieces of valuable information about Mila Kunis. The first is that she is generous with her time and is willing to spend it with the commonfolk. For example, she is attending the Marine Corps. Ball with one of our men in uniform, simply because he asked her via YouTube video.
The second thing I learned about the star of “Black Swan” and “Friends With Benefits” is that she is a huge “Star Trek” fan. She told GQ:
“I’m a massive Trekkie. I got into it later than most people. But let’s not talk about it in the past tense. I’m still a ‘Star Trek’ fan. You never stop being one. Let me give you my rundown of the series in order of most favorite to least favorite.”
She then proceeded to list them thusly: “The Next Generation,” Original Series, “Voyager,” “Deep Space Nine,” and “Enterprise.” She also said that she has a signed photo of Leonard Nimoy and “Star Trek” figurines (given to her by Jason Segal). Mila Kunis, you didn’t know it when you gave this interview, but the gauntlet has been thrown.
I, Amelia McDonell-Parry, would like to challenge you, Mila Kunis, to a “Trekkie Trivia Throwdown.” Keep reading »
When we heard that Sergeant Scott Moore had asked Mila Kunis to attend the Marine Corps. Ball with him this November in North Carolina, we imagined a cute, heartwarming entreaty, in which Moore professes his love and tells Mila how much it would mean to him and the troops. But no, this guy pooped out a sort of cocky 20-second missive that was like, bah-da-bing, let’s do this. And then Fox News told Mila about it over the weekend and she kind of agreed to go with him. Sure, we support our troops, but come on guy, Mila Kunis is one of the most beautiful women in the world. She’s friggin’ Black Swan! Try a little harder! Perhaps some singing and dancing? A little romancing? What do you think? Should Mila take him up on his offer? Keep reading »
