There goes peace in the Middle East: Kanye West is reportedly getting ready to make a film there, tentatively titled — wait for it — “N****s on Camels.” Yes, West has dispatched several members of his team to Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Doha Qatar to discuss getting the production rolling. According to The New York Observer, “In Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Doha all of the film initiatives are government controlled. A bidding war is going on between various government entities and private investors to fund the film. There’s pretty intense rivalry here between Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Qatar. They all want to claim the film as their own and take credit for generating the publicity.” Keep reading »

“Gay Girl In Damascus” Blogger Amina Abdallah Abducted

UPDATE: A London woman, Jelena Lecic, has claimed that the “Gay Girl In Damascus” blogger has stolen her photographs to use as the public face of her blog. Lecic’s publicist said the woman knew before that a Syrian blogger had been using her pics, possibly taken from Facebook, as her identity. However, when blogger Amina Abdallah went missing recently, Lecic began seeing pictures of herself everywhere claiming they were of the missing woman. Now there is some doubt being cast on Abdallah’s actual identity. Summary: the whole thing is very weird. [MSNBC]

A lesbian blogger in Syria, who penned a popular blog called “Gay Girl In Damascus,” was abducted, her family said. Amina Abdallah, 35, an English teacher, was a prominent voice in opposition to Syria’s leadership and had dodged other abduction attempts by suspected security agents, CNN reports. Keep reading »

Fact: Burger King Thinks You’re A Moron

Drilling for oil makes us American girls hot and heavy! This Burger King commercial actually isn’t as offensive to Middle Easterners as it could be — shocking! — but it wouldn’t be a BK commercial if the women in it weren’t attractive, unthreatening airheads.

If you can stomach it, there’s a few more Burger King commercials found here and in the third spot, one of the women asks, “Do you guys drive camels to work in the morning?” and the other one asks, “Aren’t camels the ones with the humps?”
