Quote Of The Day: Michelle Williams Finally Speaks About Heath Ledger’s Death

“I was holding it together by a string and a paper clip in the fall and winter. I didn’t know if I could keep it all together… You console yourself by saying it’s all a deepening process. But it’s wired. After the first year, the pain is less intense; it’s less immediate. But the magical thinking goes away too. And that’s a whole new reckoning. But every time I really miss him and wonder where he’s gone, I just look at [Mathilda.] …

‘Brokeback Mountain’ was an unrepeatable moment in time, a very charmed time in my life. I was in love; I was in a movie I was proud to be a part of, and with a beautiful brand-new baby. Everything was good in that moment ….

I feel hopeful and grateful. For a while I thought we had lost everything. It makes you want to love better and live better.”

– Michelle Williams on her relationship with Heath Ledger and his untimely death in the October issue of Vogue [Oh No They Didn't!]

Celebs We’d Be Happy To Hire — As Interns

Yesterday we told you about The Gap’s new intern, Kanye West, who joins a long line of celebrities (temporarily) giving up their high-paying day jobs in order to learn something new from the ground up. All of this got me thinking about which celebs we’d like to have intern at The Frisky and what tasks we would give them. After the jump, some of our writers and editors dish on who they’d like to fetch coffee and, uh, other stuff. Keep reading »

Heath Ledger’s Post-Mortem Vanity Fair Cover

The August 2009 issue of Vanity Fair, which will hit newsstands tomorrow, went to print before Michael Jackson died. Coincidentally, another star who passed too soon, Heath Ledger, is on the cover. The cover story, “The Last of Heath,” details Ledger’s exhaustion, insomnia, custody battle, final movie role, and untimely death. Contributing editor Peter Biskind interviewed Hollywood figures close to the actor about his final few days. After the jump, several gloomy quotes depicting what life was like for Heath.

Style Stealer: Michelle Williams’ White Canvas Slip-Ons

While we think some celebs, like Michelle Williams, deserve more privacy in their lives, we’re secretly a little happy the paparazzi snap them as they go about their business so we can see what they wear when they’re not walking a red carpet. Michelle Williams always looks so cute and casually put-together when she runs out for coffee, and we love how her shoes look as though she’s walked 1,000 miles in them. Want similar sneaks? Pick a pair from the 10 after the jump, then wear them every single day this summer, making sure not to avoid puddles or mud. Keep reading »
